  • Highlighting Our Work

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

Your generous donations to our classroom have made significant impacts in increasing student motivation. With the advent of more sophiscated technology, students now produce their work using their chromebook both in classroom and at home.

I had only one black and white printer in my classroom before and felt sorry every time I printed their creative work in black. However, your donation has made it possible to print their work in its originality and creativity and display it for all to enjoy and strive for excellence as they are able to observe what their peers have created.

Students, especially those who do not have a colored-printer at home, have been very pleased that they can print their work in all colors and are motivated to put in extra effort to be more creative.

My students and I, thank you very much for your judicious investment to our education.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Yu

  • Differentiated Resources

    Funded May 15, 2023

Technology is an integral part of the lessons in my classroom. I use the viewsonic board to project the lessons, play background music while working in groups, and watch appropriate educational contents on youtube. Students have their own chromebook, and carry with them to each class where they are engaged in various educational activities.

Although school resumed less than a month ago, in August, I was able to find interesting materials and engaging activities on TPT. Students worked in various situations, such as a whole class discussion, indepent reading, and collarborative sharing in groups. My students and I enjoyed reading and talking about, sharing their thoughts about the new information on Critical Media Literacy, and doing various learning activities. I will continually find more resources I need to create joy in learning for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Yu

  • Innovative Classroom

    Funded Mar 17, 2015

Your donation to my project, Innovative Classroom, has made an important turning point in student engagement in my classroom. First of all, students have more close interactions with me during the lesson as Surface Pro allows me to move about the classroom to monitor and observe the student progress, offering more personalized assistance, whereas I had a very limited access to them before.

In addition to the flexibility, students are more engaged in the lesson through the technology. Besides the educational applications l listed on Innovative Classroom, one of my colleagues introduced me to an exciting educational game, Kahoot. Whenever we have a test, I use that app for a review activity. For example, I used to play a simple vocabulary bingo with them before the test; it is now transformed into more extended and fun game through Kahoot.

I am searching for and learning more about other educational websites to innovate my lessons and presentations in order to enhance student learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Yu

My students are creative and fun-loving seventh graders. Their motivation ranges from extremely eager (those students who thrive in a challenging environment) to apathetic and indifferent (those who need a constant support). Nonetheless, every student gets excited about more hands-on lessons on technology.
