A Balancing Act
Funded Dec 15, 2009This past week, my students learned the difference between exothermic and endothermic reactions. They made hand warmers and cold packs. To do this, they needed to determine the mass of many chemical samples. Some students used our old triple beam balances; others used the new digital balance you so kindly provided. You can rest assured that the digital balance would have been everyone's first choice. Hopefully, more donors such as you can help in the future and we can have enough for the entire class. My students know that digital balances ordinarily are kept for the honors students. You made them feel just as important. Thank you.”

Dynamic Chemistry
Funded Jan 5, 2010My students are so happy. They now have labs to do. I told them that just about every week, until the end of the year, we will doing laboratory work. On Mondays they remind me of my promise. Because of your generosity, I have students who enjoy coming to chemistry class.
Chemical reactions now make sense. A new color, an increase in temperature, a precipitate, bubbles - all indicate that a change has occurred and that new products were formed. Now instead of seeing it on paper, they actually see it before their own eyes.
It is not that schools do not want to provide supplies. There is just no money. You have filled a desperate need. On behalf of my students and myself, I sincerely thank you and wish you the very best.”

Is It Dense?
Funded Apr 4, 2008What a pleasant surprise! My students in Chemistry will be so excited tomorrow to hear the news that our project has been funded. We have been in considerable need of accurate masses for studying the physical property of density. The identity of unknown objects can be better determined with the kits of equal mass metal specimens and density cubes. Students enjoy lab activities where they can investigate a problem. Thank you”

Chemistry Kits Make Learning Fun
Funded Dec 30, 2007I am so delighted that this important Chemistry kit has been fully funded. My students frequently ask for opportunities to engage in laboratory activities, and this generous donation will be very welcome. So often, we hear that chemistry is a part of our everyday lives. This consumer chemistry kit will give my students some practical examples. Thank you so much”
