  • Woven Tales: Crafting Stories through Threads

    Funded Jan 27, 2025

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my students and making our weaving project a reality! Your generosity has provided us with the materials we need to explore the art of weaving, helping my students learn new techniques while expressing their creativity in meaningful ways.

For many of my students, this will be their first experience with weaving, and I can't wait to see how they use this opportunity to tell their own personal stories through art. Your kindness not only enriches their education but also empowers them to see themselves as artists, storytellers, and creators.

We are so grateful for your support, and we can't wait to share our woven narratives with you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Velazquez

  • From Sketch to Masterpiece!

    Funded Dec 30, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity in funding sketchbooks for my elementary art students! Your support has made an incredible difference in our classroom, and I wanted to share just how meaningful this gift has been.

For many of my students, this is their very first sketchbook—a space that belongs entirely to them, where they can freely express their ideas, experiment, and grow as young artists. Having their own sketchbooks gives them a sense of ownership and pride in their work, which encourages creativity and confidence.

One moment that truly stood out was when a quiet fourth grader, who is often shy about sharing her art, carefully opened her new sketchbook and immediately began drawing a colorful garden scene. She beamed as she explained to me that this was her "special place" to draw the ideas in her mind. Seeing that spark of joy and self-assurance in her eyes was priceless, and it wouldn't have been possible without your generosity.

These sketchbooks are so much more than paper—they're tools for self-expression, exploration, and joy. Thank you for helping my students discover the artist within them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Velazquez

  • No Paper, No Art: Help Provide Creative Materials

    Funded Oct 24, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your support of our "No Paper, No Art" project! Because of your generosity, my students now have the materials they need to bring their ideas to life.

Having paper in our art class has made an incredible impact. My students can now sketch their dreams, experiment with different mediums, and express themselves in ways that weren't possible before. From drawing self-portraits to designing imaginative scenes, the simple gift of paper has opened up a world of creativity and confidence for them.

Your contribution has inspired countless smiles and ignited a passion for art in my classroom. Thank you for believing in the power of creativity and for supporting my students' artistic journeys.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Velazquez

  • Easels Are What We Desperately Wish For

    Funded Nov 18, 2019

My students were amazed to see the Easels and couldn't wait to experience painting on it. Once they started painting, their faces lit up with big smiles. They expressed to me how much fun they had and how it felt different painting on an easel versus on the table. They look forward to painting again and again on their easels are truly motivated to do their best. We are truly grateful and can't thank you enough for your kind generosity. It's great to see that you understand the value and joy that the arts bring to a child's life!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Velazquez

  • Wanted: Flying Carpet!

    Funded May 1, 2014

It has made a huge impact with my students having a more comfortable and hygienic place to sit on while we learn. The students are more focus on the lessons rather than the conditions of the previous puzzle mats. They are no longer accidentally shocking each other by sitting on the rubber puzzle mats. My students are now excited to come sit on the new carpet and learn from each other and myself. My students and I really appreciated your contribution and were amazed that someone cared so much about us!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Velazquez

  • Patterns and Prints!

    Funded Dec 1, 2013

Thank you so much for funding my patterns and prints project. My students enjoyed making prints from their collagraph plates and were proud to display their work throughout the school. It made a tremendous impact for my students to experience printmaking and to know that people like you cared enough to donate materials for them to use. In appreciation of your donation my students decided to make a mini print to include as a front cover of the thank you notes you should be receiving soon. I thank you deeply for advocating for the arts through your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Velazquez

My students love art. They love expressing themselves, creating, learning and exploring different types of materials. My students self-esteem improves every time they share with a smile what they have created. I had a third grade student that made a paper-mache rabbit with big eyes and long ears. I saw this young boys' attitude change as he completed his project, from an insecure, doubtful little boy, to a confident and proud student !
