My class of special education middle school students will do anything for an art experience! We've explored Piet Mondrian after learning about plane geometry, and Ellsworth Kelley's got nothing on them when they use his style to show the relationship between fractions, decimals and percents. We have used modular origami to reinforce pattern recognition, created mandalas with compasses when we studied circles, and even made original tilings for tessellations.
