Print, Print... Away!
Funded Aug 31, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation. This printer has been a life saver on so many levels. First of all, I have the flexibility to print out any last minute worksheets that I may need during class time or during times when our school printer might have a long line or be broken. In addition, I have been able to use it for any other projects that require printing in color. I have also been able to take advantage of the 6 months of free printing. It has been a great addition to the classroom. Thank you for your help.”

Funded Aug 1, 2020Thank you for supporting my classroom with this project. Last school year was a challenge and mostly completed virtually, but we made it through. The desk came in super handy when I was setting up my teaching area at home. It was small and compact, perfect for my tiny space. I was able to fit my computer, a small document camera and all my other teaching essentials. Some students also had small spaces at home so the pencil bags helped them keep their essential materials organized and easily accessible. The dry erase markers were especially helpful when they did work on their whiteboards. Some of the materials have even become handy this year, with my new class.”

Funded Sep 23, 2019Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I don't know who was more excited with our materials, the kids or myself? Because of your generous donation, we now have a complete classroom set of double sided mini white boards. These have been used in both math and language arts settings to practice either math strategies, dictation or penmanship.
When I announced that each student was going to get their own marker, the excitement level went through the roof. A parent helped me label the markers with each of their names so that there wouldn't be any arguing about what belonged to who. I have already noticed how much more they care for their materials, especially after I told them that they were responsible for their individual markers.
I cannot thank you enough. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

Funded Aug 24, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations. As soon as I received the books, they were added to our classroom library. Students have started using their book bags to go "shopping" for books and these books have been a hit.
The texts are colorful and engaging, and the level has been perfect for my emergent readers. I often hear excitement in their voices and words like "this book is perfect for me!"
Again, I am so grateful for your help. Finding materials in Spanish has always been a challenge. Your donation has allowed me to make more engaging texts available for my students.”

Funded Mar 1, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations. As soon as we received all our materials, we put them to great use. The vacuum was used daily and sometimes even twice a day. You wouldn't believe how much dust accumulates after one day of class! The baby wipes were useful in keeping our hands and tables clean after each day's breakfast. They not only helped us keep our hands and classroom clean, but taught the kids to feel a sense of pride in their classroom. We all pitched in to keep our classroom clean. Finally, the kids were amazed with the dusters. They had fun seeing how all the dust stuck to them like magic! Again, thank you so much.”

Funded Mar 9, 2016It has been a couple of months since our kiddos had their field trip to the Kidspace Museum and, as always, it was a blast. For many, this was their first time visiting this museum and it was delightful to see their faces full of excitement as they played and learned throughout. The museum had many new exhibits and what better way to learn than by playing. Even our parent chaperones loved the place and could not wait to take their kids back again. I am certain that this experience will be an unforgettable one. I often see some of my previous students and one of the things they always remember is visiting Kidspace Museum. Thank you for making it a possibility and hope that you can support us in the future.”

Funded Nov 29, 2015Donors,
Thank you so much for your generous donation. The materials you purchased have helped me expose my students to quality non-fiction materials in Spanish. As you may or may not know, finding resources in Spanish is a daunting task. Not only is the material hard to find, but once you find it, you come to realize that the quality of the Spanish is not that great in some of the books or videos.
The magazines have helped our Dual Language students learn new concepts and vocabulary in Spanish on a weekly basis. My students look forward to the weekly magazines. They especially love the short videos that accompany every single title. For Presidents' Day, students were able to compare and contrast two of our most important presidents, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Again, thank you for your assistance.”

A Space for Kids to Grow
Funded Dec 25, 2014Once again, thank you for your support in giving my students and their parents the opportunity to learn outside the classroom. This marks the fourth year that I have taken students on this field trip and I always get the same response. The kids love it! They have fun! Kidspace offers them things that a textbook cannot and I am always grateful for you and all the donors who support us. It is extremely important these days to offer meaningful trips to the kids. Our budgets have been cut and it often seems like we are just teaching reading and math. I am not saying that reading and math are not important, but kids (especially kids in schools like mine) really benefit from opportunities to get out and explore the world, a world that is much more than textbooks and tests. Thanks a bunch!”

Ms. S. Acosta
Let's Read!
Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you all for helping me obtain the yearly subscription of these Spanish language magazines. It has truly made a positive impact in my classroom. As I have mentioned before, I teach the Spanish portion in our Dual Language program to 48 students. One of my priorities as a teacher (regardless of language of instruction) has always been to incite a love for reading and learning. One of the ways I have done that is by bringing in books and texts that are interesting and meaningful to first grade students. The Scholastic magazines have done just that. Every time, I bring out a new issue and have the students peruse, I hear the "ooohs" and "ahhhs". These magazines have allowed my students to increase their knowledge about a multitude of subjects and have also helped them generate thought provoking questions. Thank you so much for making my students' learning much more fun and exciting and helping me expand their learning beyond language arts and math.”

Learning Without Limits...Take 2!!
Funded Jan 17, 2014Thank you for making this trip a reality. We just visited the museum a couple of days ago and it was awesome! Kids, parents, and teachers all had a great time and enjoyed all of the hands-on activities available. Students were exposed to physics, life sciences, fitness, cause and effect, etc. all while having lots of fun. We climbed towers, rode tricycles, and also experienced what life would be as an ant. Although it was not your typical classroom day, students gained so much more knowledge in a fun an exciting way. Again, thank you so much for contributing and I hope you continue to support projects like these in the future.”
