  • Using Hands-On Activities to Help Us Learn!

    Funded Dec 2, 2014

This is just a small token of my gratitude that can't even explain how generous your donation was to my classroom. The common core packs that you donated has helped my students on a daily basis. We've used them to help tune in on specific common core skills that they need more practice on. The audio literacy common core packs has helped us to differentiate for different level readers. We have a lot of students' that benefit listening to skills on CD.

With all the budget shortfalls, we weren't able to have as much new common core curriculum in our school. With all of this help from you my students get to have all this visual resources. Thank you so much for being wonderful to help classrooms throughout the U.S.A. I again can not thank you enough how you have helped my Special Education classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Beck

This is just a small token of my gratitude that can't even explain how generous your donation was to my classroom. The document camera that you donated has helped my students on a daily basis. We've used them to put our worksheets up on the big screen so the students' are able to follow along with me. It has helped from making worksheets for the overhead. We also use it too show different manipulative's for whole class math!

My Class and I would like to take the time to let you know how your donations have helped our class. My students have been able to use the projector in so many ways. I would just like to list a few things that we use it for in the classroom. We do a reading intervention called Raz-kids. I have found now that the kids can one by one go up and read their story in the front of the class it gives them a since of confidence. I work with Special Needs students' so to see them get excited is amazing! I also have used it a lot for a video science and for reading time. We use it for so many things. I can not EXPLAIN the amount of help it has done. I have noticed huge improvements in their school work. It was a struggle to get them to want to do their work before we had this kind od interactive technology in our classroom. I can not thank you all enough for the impact you have had on my classroom. From our academics to motor movements my class is able to grow all around. ”

  • Movement Magic For Special Kids

    Funded Dec 21, 2011

My Class and I would like to take the time to let you know how your donations have helped our class. My students have been able to get the sensory/movement breaks that they need to stay on task. The bungee jumpers have allowed them to build their leg muscles. We like to use the stepping stones to help with my students balance. Now that they are used to the stepping stones, I am able to let them play games with them. They love to try and work together to get from one room to the other together. Another hot item that you helped us purchase was the hide and slide. This has been wonderful for a nice finger warm up before they write. I have been using the t-stool for two of my students. I can not EXPLAIN the amount of help it has done. These particular students weren't able to keep all four legs of their chair on the floor. The t-stool has allowed them to have that movement and forces them to balance while they sit at their desk. I have noticed huge improvements in their school work. The slant boards I have been using for two of my other students. Now that they have their work in front of them and not flat on their desk they are able to complete more work. It was a struggle to get them to want to do their work before. I can not thank you all enough for the impact you have had on my classroom. From our academics to motor movements my class is able to grow all around. Thank you so much for all your time and contribution. We appreciate everything that you all have done for us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Beck

My students are in a self contained Special Education classroom. They are in a small class setting that allows them to learn things slower and at their individual pace. They attend a primary school grades K-1. I give sensory (movement) breaks throughout the day. The hide and slide, bungee jump are perfect items for that 5-10 minute break they need. They have a hard time sitting in one spot. I know that with the bouncy balls, t stools, seat cushions, and slant boards it will help them focus during academics. Just the slightest adjustment of taking away the chair and replacing it with items that allow them to move helps them stay more focused.
