  • Weekly Exciting Lessons and Follow-Up Activities!!

    Funded Mar 5, 2020

Thank you so much for the fantastic, FULL YEAR subscription to Scholastic's LET's Find Out" weekly magazine for my TK (Transitional Kindergarten) students!

We all benefit so much by the gorgeous photography, rich vocabulary, and lessons learned from each issue. The "LFO" curriculum covers Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Health-Social/Emotional topics.

Just this week,In October, as you can see from my photos, we are studying the human skeleton and "Pumpkin Parts"! This Friday I will do my best to actually carve a pumpkin for the children as they watch during our ZOOM CLASS. Thank you for enriching our learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Holdridge

  • Outside Play + Pre-K = A Healthy Way

    Funded Dec 5, 2011

Early childhood physical development is an important component of preschool. The rocking boat and the basketball hoop that you donated to my classroom have been a huge hit among the students. Each day at outside directed playtime, they enjoy having the variety of activities that our playground now has to offer. These new items promote their sense of balance, eye hand coordination and gross muscle development. As they interact with the hoop and the boat, my students are exhibiting the type of development we foster in Pre-K. I can't thank you enough for the experiences you have made available to my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Holdridge

  • Pre-K SandboxAand Sand Promotes Childhood Development

    Funded Nov 18, 2011

The sand for our sandbox arrived last week. Once again our sandbox is a popular area when we go outside to play. The students are exploring and working together as their imaginations run wild. I am delighted as I watch my students learn and grow from their experiences in the sandbox.

It's great to have the support of organizations like yours that understand the importance of early education. In these hard economic times your donations are especially needed and appreciated. My students and I thank you for your generosity and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Holdridge

I teach Kindergarten on a public elementary school campus in a large urban school district. My class is very diverse, and I have a total of 24 students. Since I teach the entire day in English, it would be very beneficial to my ESL students to have an IPAD center (consisting of two IPADS) to provide visual/auditory aid as follow-up to my curriculum. I really try to use all learning modalities when I present new topics, and the IPAD includes Teechnology as well, to my sweet 5-year olds. Thank you for your interest in Room 2's success!!! we appreciate it!
