Sounds of a New Language
Funded Jan 31, 2024Your gift allows my students to feel values in a space where everything feels unfamiliar since they are new to the United States. Being able to hear a language and take risks digitally is a safe space for many of my learners. Thank your for your generosity especially during a time when our pockets are limited.”

Pages of Belonging
Funded Jan 15, 2024Thank you for giving my learners access to reading materials that they can identify with. Having text in a language familiar to your home language allows our learners to feel a sense of belonging during a time where unfamiliarity is a constant. Your gift is more than just a book it represents home where thumping through the pages represents an opportunity to breathe and feel the warmth of home!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Peterson Family and one other donor.Green Growth
Funded Nov 4, 2018This whole click and grow garden has made my students so proud to have something grow that they can call their own. They enjoy watching the garden grow and flourish. When they enter the room, they rush over and check to see how much it has grown and if it needs water. They actually named their plants and can't wait for us to pick tomatoes. I am always in awe how limited their experiences are with plants and growing a vegetable garden. Something I often take for granted is a golden opportunity for them. Thank you so much for donating the garden, it has made our conversation richer and it has helped us to have a green space we can call our own. It is donors like you who help us to make our classroom an experience that connects to real life!
Your donations is a gift that keeps on giving and it has truly allowed my classroom to expose my students to a world that is within reach for them. We can't wait to make salad which will give me the opportunity to give my students the opportunity to try a new herb, basil and to start a conversation centered on eating healthy. Hopefully, this will inspire them to live lives that are focused on living healthy and taking care of the Earth. Thank you once again for helping my students to experience a piece of green amongst our concrete jungle!”

Welcoming Learning Spaces
Funded Aug 30, 2018Having a space to call their own is crucial in building trusting partnerships. This is why your donation means the world to our class. Your resources help me to create a learning spaces that met the needs of my students interest and help them to overcome being shy. They learned to share and learn together which leads to empathy, kindness and trust.
My students were absolutely shocked to be in a space where the warmth and welcoming spaces beckoned them to explore, learn and take risks. They enjoyed making choices of where to sit as well as working in learning spaces that felt like they were in control and met their learning styles.
Engaging in maker spaces will be the next steps to utilizing the supplies donated. This way students can engage with their peers in areas that we customized to help them perform in the most optimum way. It helps them to feel empowered to make decisions and lead each other towards risk-taking.”

Modern Spaces for Modern Learners
Funded Jun 1, 2018First of all, My students and I love walking into a room that feels warm, inviting and relaxed. Many of them feel like our classroom is designed to help them destress, sit in spaces that are different from the traditional desk and table. They enjoy swinging, sitting on benches, and stools. The lights offer an additional of warmth and coziness that allow my student to feel safe, secure, and emotionally read to take risks and problem solve.
Providing me with materials to set-up a room that welcomes students into a space that shows love and warmth was of utmost importance and proved to be true when they entered my room, completely speechless. They enjoyed exploring their new learning space and chose their spots for learning and completing tasks. When they became anxious or stressed, the sat on the swing. They especially enjoyed being in a space where they environment was free from pollutants and smelled crisp as well as beachy/floral.
Since there is a push to meet the needs of the whole child, we will be utilizing our space to create safe emotional learning areas. So, our Sanford Harmony or Restorative Circles session will be a great program to implement in a space such as this because it allows students choice, movement, destress, clean, aromatic air to help students feel calm, relaxed and safe to learn and socialize.”

Flexible Seating for Flexible Learners.
Funded Mar 27, 2018We were truly touched by your generous and thoughtful donation to our classroom! We had been trying to organize our classroom furniture for months. We had a vision to create a learning environment that was designed with flexible learning spaces like the Starbucks setting. After exhausting our pockets, we tried shopping for furniture in the basement of our school, in other teacher's rooms, and at garage sales. We came up empty and tried to work around what we had yet, we came up short. Until, you donated to our project.....
With your donation we were able to create 2 additional learning spaces. Students were able to choose from using high stools conveniently situated near windows as well as shorter stools to sit lower to the floor. These spaces gave our students the opportunity to have a choice as to where they would like to sit complete independent work, collaborative work, as well as partner work. They have enjoyed their special spaces and love that they don't have to sit in their traditional seats. These spaces have given the students who are the most reluctant, hesitant, challenging to work in a space that they are empowered by. They seem to be focused and time on task has increased due to your donation to our classroom.
These spaces has helped our student to become learners who question, provide feedback, and actively help their peers. Students are highly engaged thereby they are academically advancing into a world of creative problem solving and risk-taking. These students are modern learners who require movement and collaborative learning spaces. Thank you so much for giving the gift of modern learning spaces to modern learners!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Journaling into a Growth Mindset
Funded Feb 5, 2018When we noticed that our project was fully funded, we were ecstatic! We could not wait for the box to arrive. Each book was like a gift to each student. They couldn't believe that they could have their own book and that it was theirs to keep. Seeing each child hug their book, flip from page to page and eager to read the stories left me feeling overwhelmed with emotions. I couldn't help but think about the wonderful opportunity your donations had opened up for each kids as they opened each book to learn about how they can develop a growth mindset. Having their own journal with colorful, vibrant picture with spaces for reflection meant that they will grow into learners who are self-aware. Journaling about their mindset has helped them to grow into learners who are no longer fearful of mistakes, risk-takers, and problem solvers.
Each day the students are eager for their read aloud, they love to share their reflection with their classmates, and enjoy giving each other feedback. These books have helped our student develop a community learning mindset where they have become cheerleaders for each other. They push each other to say "Not yet" instead of "I can't" and they even ask, "Did I work hard today" instead of "Was I good today? at dismissal. It's amazing how the behavior issues diminish because the students are more focused on positive decision making as well as collaborating to help each other.
Thank you so much for helping our classroom become a community of learners who push each other to learn that when we fall, we pick each other up and keep going. They have learned that there is gold in every mistake and that practice is what leaders must do to earn success. These books have enhanced our classroom culture and has positively impacted the learning process of kids by allowing them to learn from each other, question and reflect.”

Mrs. Rahaman-Seuram
Uncovering a World of Possibilities
Funded Feb 19, 2017These magazines are paramount to students developing skills such as understanding how to read a non-fiction text, author's craft, using context clues, as well as main idea while simultaneously providing students with high interest articles that motivates them to read. These magazine articles evoke discussion and a passion for writing with evidence since they are making connections the ideas presented in the text. Additionally, Scholastic magazines provide students with the ability to learn about cultures, continents, and world issues. This helps us to open the minds of children to learning about a world filled with adventure waiting to be explored.
Reading used to look like students who stared at pages, walls, and flipped pages when they thought enough time had passed. They pretended to read and waited for restroom breaks to escape out to the halls rather than read. Now that we have these cool magazines time seems to fly and students seems to be really reading. They spend time jotting what they are learning and are eager to share their opinions. It is as if they awoke from a long reading hibernation and are hooked on the articles. No longer do I see them watching the clock, walls, or randomly flipping pages. Your donation awakened leaders, scientists, historians, mathematicians, and writers and dared them to dream of unending possibilities that awaits them as they discover that reading is the key to power and success.
My most reluctant readers are being empowered with vocabulary and insights that helps them to realize that their world expands beyond the four walls in the classroom as well as their apartments. They read out loud and feel equipped to communicate with others about what they are learning. They no longer say "pass" when it is their turn to read and are now spending their free time with their noses in these magazines.”

Mrs. Rahaman-Seuram
21st Century Learners
Funded Nov 29, 2016Alexa has transformed our classroom environment in many ways. We can play music to calm or enhance the learning atmosphere. Additionally, the students speak to Alexa when they are revising or editing their pieces. Sometimes, they would check their math calculations or even ask what the weather would be like at dismissal. The students enjoy having Alexa around since they have never experienced that kind of voice tech in their home life. The Kindles are rewarding because my students who are struggling readers can have a book read to them or we can do read alouds using the kindle to project graphics and sound. It motivates students to read and it is great watching them cuddle up with the Kindle on the rug as if the rest of the world around them no longer exists.
Next, students love that they can talk to Alexa and get a response immediately. The laugh along with her and it is as if Alexa is another classmate with the way that they have come to rely on her for feedback, synonyms, or the news. The Kindles are fun and interactive as well because students do not have to be afraid to read, they can use the Kindles for books on tapes and it helps them to become fluent and read with expression. They are engaged and enthralled by the Kindles and Alexa because they are hands-on and real. Our classroom is now a couple of steps closer 21st Century Learning.
Your donation has narrowed the gap in our quest to expose our children to the digital world around them. We are so very appreciative of your time and precious donations to our classroom. It helps us to provide equitable education for our students because they can now experience some of the updated enhancement in technology which they may not be around in their own home. Thank you for your support and your generosity!”

Mrs. Rahaman-Seuram
