The students I work with are bright, hard working and sign up for the guitar class in order to have a musical outlet in their schedule. I feel for the students today and the exceedingly high standards that they put on themselves. I take delight in offering a class in which they are able to use the other side of their brain and love seeing a "lower performing student" blossom into a class leader. Our school has a unique culture that is built on respect, integrity and honoring themselves and others. Students hold each other accountable and take pride in the power they have to help influence others in a positive, supportive way. I feel very comfortable bringing my instruments in for the class to play and even let them borrow them over weekends. This is something that I do not do lightly with anyone but I trust my students and in turn they live up to that trust.
