And Just Like That... I'm a Copy Cat
Funded Apr 13, 2021As you all know last school year was a difficult one due to the fact that we were fully remote and then partially remote. It was very difficult keeping the children on task and making sure that they all had the necessary information. While technology is amazing these days, we had many technical difficulties. Not all children had Wi-Fi and so we had to give hard copy work. This printer allowed me to provide School work for all the children
I was able to make packets and deliver them or have parents come pick them up and I cannot express how grateful Iam to you for making that possible. At times when systems were overloaded and smart boards shutdown we had to rely on books and making copies of the pages and this printer saved day.
I realize this has been a hard time for everyone so I am extremely grateful for your generosity and willingness to help us out. Words cannot express my gratitude and thank you just doesn't seem like enough. Please know that I remain eternally grateful.”

Funded Aug 13, 2020I hope that I can convey to you the difference that your donation has made in our classroom. To see the children in such a sanguin state and feel the positive energy in the room brings tears to my eyes at times. They're not used to social distancing so the puppets and storytelling props enable them to socialize and share ideas at a safe distance. They engage in dramatic role play and even use the puppetry to express how this pandemic is affecting them. Play therapy is vital these days and the items you so generously afforded us provides the theraputic outlet that my stormtroopers so desperately need. Thank you never seems enough but know that I am ever so grateful to you.
I wish you all Abundant Blessings and again; From The Depths Of My Heart... Thank You.”

Funded Aug 27, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation. It would've been difficult to keep the children apart without providing individual centers. With the seat sacks that go on the back of the seats, they can store their books and have them at their finger tips while remaining socially distant. The book baggies allow then to choose several readers at a time, cutting down the trips to the class library. Magnetic bins help store markers and writing supplies on separate white boards enabling socially distant access. The room is set up for individuality, cutting down on interaction and while they still are able to speak to each other and engage in class activities, the items you've provided make walking around unnecessary. It's unfortunate that they have to go through this, but keeping these Storm Troopers safe is the #1 priority . They love their individual bags and seat sacks. You've made a very difficult situation much more palatable. Thank you so much, from all of us to all of you.”

Moving Forward with Rhythms and Rhymes
Funded Aug 6, 2020Reading With Rhythm has made such an impact on the children that they're actually looking forward to reading. Adding sound to stories and keeping rhythm while reading is not only great fun, it's teaching the children about intonation, expression and spacing out words. They're breaking down words and emphasising syllables... It's just such a joy to see them excited about reading and story telling. The instruments are a much needed and very welcome addition to our reading time. Whether the story is in book form, or an iPad, the addition of a drum, a clatterpillar , or a shaker makes all the difference in the world. I believe that these instruments will go beyond reading and improve on their language development skills as well. I'm excited about what influence these instruments will have on my children. ,Thank you so much.”

In Order To Teach Them, I Have To Reach Them!
Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for donating the document cameras to us. With these cameras I was able to photograph the work that the students needed to do and put it up directly on screen. They saw the pages full screen and were able to work together going over lessons.
At first they thought that i had a "Ginormous" book at home and when they saw what i was doing and how i was doing it they were delighted and asked me to bring it to school in September if we go back.
They all enjoyed the cameras , and are excited to see and work them themselves. Not all will be able but some will and all will try. One girl in particular didn't get a remote learning device for some reason and she and I had to work via her mother's phone. She had no WIFI at home so I'd call her on WhatsApp and through the video she could see the work and copy what she needed. Without those cameras it would've been an almost impossible task.
To say I'm grateful is an understatement, but I'll say it anyway. I am FOREVER GRATEFUL TO YOU”

Funded Jan 22, 2020There are times when I request items for my Thundercats and I say to myself...no one is going to sponsor us, because the items don't seem important. Unless one is in this room, the necessity for these things is not apparent. Imagine writing a piece for the first time and having it destroyed by circumstances beyond your control, when a simple plastic cover could've saved your work. That is what most of these items have provided for our children. The lamination allows the children to make mistakes and recover from them without frustration. The pouches enable us to preserve and display their work. i wish that you could see the pride on their faces . While they play the card game, they learn about the parts of speech and how to understand the mechanics of the language, All these little , seemingly random items make a huge difference in both the learning environment and the self esteem of these precious children.
Thank you all so very much for your generosity and your compassion for my Thundercats.
We Bring The Thunder!!!”

Let's Take This Outside
Funded Apr 30, 2018I want you to imagine living in a world that makes no sense to you. You're trapped in a space where time, people, language and socializing mean nothing. You simply exist. Then, imagine one day someone hands you a hockey stick and a ball. You see someone else with a stick in hand and suddenly.. You're connected. Within days you're playing baseball and laughing and sharing experiences with classmates. You're connected!! From this simple team sports equipment, comes language development, social skills and both fine and gross motor skills. More than anything the barrier that existed between Autism, ADD,ED and learning disabled has been broken. I cannot thank you enough for this gift. These children will NEVER be the same... thanks to you and your generosity.
God bless us all very much.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018We have been working on spring flowers insect models and are now beginning to work on father's day projects. We've been using different types of glue on various kinds of materials. We used the tacky glue on felt and silky flowers. The foam glue worked great on our re-purposing styrofoam, Mosaic tile and foam color block projects. Soon we will begin our wood working. The children are delighted and have learned so much about the many kinds of glue that exist. They've had fun experimenting and creating. Thank you so much not only for the materials but, for opening up a whole new world of creativity fit my babies.”

Funded Jan 25, 2018I cannot begin to tell you how/ grateful... happy and excited I am about your generosity. Because of your giving my babies are engaged in reading and language development like never before. The whisper phones are amazing . They have added a whole new dimension to communication.. shared reading and guided reading. The children actually get excited about reading y to each other and to us.
The model magic has strengthened their little fingers and helped my babies learn concepts such as rolling, twisting, pinching, pulling and poking. All of these prepare them for writing and handling everyday objects and tasks. I don't have sufficient words to echoed my gratitude.
FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART...THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.”

Funded Sep 26, 2016To say that we are thankful for our display stand and computer table, is an understatement. These two pieces of equipment have enabled the students to work freely. Due to the multiple needs in the room often times some of the students lag behind . The display stand. provides freedom for the children to go and look at the lessons and keep up at their own pace with the instruction given while the ones that are able to go ahead do so. The computer table allows some of the children that have special issues work on their own in their own space at their own pace and not be disturbed by others movement or disturb others by their movement. These items were not available to us through regular funding from the schools so when donors choose has been able to provide them for us we are so so grateful and we thank you so much. Your generosity allows children to accomplish tasks that they otherwise would not be able to accomplish on their own. These two pieces of equipment have cut down tremendously on the frustration of just getting through a lesson and the ones that need it most are definitely benefiting from it. On behalf of the children I thank you from the bottom of my heart”
