  • My Space, Your Space, Our Space Is Cluttered

    Funded Oct 23, 2024

Life has been made easier by your donation. I am ever so grateful for your generosity. This document scanner is not only fascinating to the children, it has made our group work another and more enjoyable. I can scan some of their work and print it out right before their eyes. We can create shareable pages and bind them into books. This little machine not only provides hard copies of work, it creates confidence and pride.

The Dream Team has created and published their work on various topics and proudly displayed the work outside. They've taken turns reading and showing their creations to each other and the admin. Thank you for providing the tools necessary for this accomplishment. My Dream Team doesn't read or write on grade level. Some don't read at all, but seeing them create books and share them had been Amazing. Without you I wouldn't have been able to give them that ability. Thank You will never be enough. May you be blessed 100 fold. From The Dream Team and Me Thank You... Bless You now and Always.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. CARMONA

  • Look Who's Talking...With Your Help

    Funded Jan 13, 2025

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You so much. The average person speaks 130 words per minute during a normal conversation. Some of my Dream Team has trouble speaking 5 to 10 words within the hour and that's their reality. These devices and AIDS will help them to communicate better, form words better, and build fluency in the vocabulary. You can't imagine how grateful I am that you have decided to be so generous as to sponsor us. May you be blessed 100 times over.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. CARMONA

  • I Can Write Here There Anywhere

    Funded Jun 1, 2024

I'm Shouting a GREAT BIG THANK YOU for your generosity. The Dream Team and I are head over heels and knee deep in gratitude. Thanks to you we are free to work wherever we go. You've given us mobility and that is priceless. We're on the rug learning... Testing in the hallway and taking our learning stations with us. Not being restricted to a table and desk is indescribable. The boys function better, they're paying attention and closer to the writing for the visually impaired. I can go on and on. Thank you. Thank you again... Thank you”

  • When I'm Filled With Emotion, I Need Movement And Motion

    Funded Oct 22, 2023

First I want to THANK YOU ALL for your generosity. There really are no words that can convey my gratitude. Thank you simply does not suffice. Imagine being trapped in a body that just won't be still . You cannot sit still even when you try...in order to concentrate you have to be in motion. Your thoughts, your system and your body racing and raging all day long. That is what some of my little Tiggers go through. And these wobble seats and cushions that you have provided may not seem like much to some, but they are the difference between learning and being in trouble all day long. With this specialized seating the children can move enough so that they're calm enough to do their work and focus. You would be surprised at what a little bit of rocking can do. When they're on the rug and want to spin around instead they can sit on their mobile spots and have the motion necessary to sit and participate in lessons and discussions. Again I thank you from the bottom of my heart you've made a world of difference in our lives, not only for them but for us as well because it makes it easier to teach them. Thank you so much I pray blessings on each and every one of you.”

  • These Hands Were Made For Touching

    Funded Jan 6, 2023

Nothing...I say again, Nothing beats the look on the face of a child who's artwork comes to life.. Yes they are proud and enthusiastic about drawings, paintings and sketches, but when projects are 3D ...it takes pride to a whole other level. Using felt as a backdrop was exciting to begin with; but adding felt and foam and fur to their pieces Amazed and Delighted them to no end. These projects made my special babies feel Unstoppable. I can't describe the level. Of confidence that working with these materials has given my babies. They all have sensory issues and working with these materials, feeling it in their hands and manipulating it to make it what they wanted to make it into was such an awesome experience to watch

I am so grateful. I have no words. I look forward to the end of year projects with all of the generous gifts that you've given them. I thank you so much. For some people a few bits of fur and some magnets and some glue and some art materials may seem like nothing, but for children who can barely manage a pencil to be able to put these things together and create something of Their Own It is life-changing. So again I thank you with all my heart for all that you do.”

  • They Put in the Work; I Put Up the Display

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

First I want to thank you for all that you do and for taking the time out to donate to us I am beyond grateful. If you could only see their faces when they were allowed to put up their own work and step on their own little stools as I held them. Being a special need child comes with many limits. Most of the time they see me putting their work up and ask if they can help, but a staple gun is not safe for children. With all the different types of adhesive that you donated the children were able to put their own work up proudly displaying their finished products. They also learned about all the different types of ways to put things up on different surfaces so that it became a science extension LOL. Because of you anytime that they create the slightest art project or what they call a perfect writing they want to put it on a magnet or they want to put it on double-sided tape and just stick it up all over the classroom wherever they find Space. It has excited them about writing and drawing and they have learned about taking pride in their work. I thank you with all my heart. Who knew that tape and magnets would make such a difference in second graders lives. You knew and I'm so glad you did. I pray you are blessed 100 times over heart and soul.”

  • We Have Something to Say in All Kinds of Ways

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations they are greatly appreciated. When the Children saw their art center and the paints their eyes open wide and they were excited. It was hard to get them to concentrate on the academics after seeing all the goodies that you donated. Post covid has been difficult to say the least. Getting them back into routines and getting them to focus has been a task, but using some creativity and coming up with new projects that express what they've been going through was definitely the answer. Their work is up the room is bright they have made self images and they're ready to go. We are all so grateful for what you do and for sponsoring us. Thank you so very much not just for this project but for all the times that you have reached out and sponsored us. I greatly appreciate every donation from the bottom of my heart. Blessings to you always. Thank you so much”

  • The World Is A Rainbow Filled With Many Colors

    Funded Jan 20, 2022

I am always amazed at the generosity of the people on donors choose. Thank you always seems like such an inadequate word. I'm so grateful that you chose to sponsor us. This project was very near and dear to my heart because the children got a chance to truly make self-portraits and identify with the color paints and their skin. I was so proud to put their display Hmm up and they understand that we are all pieces of grand puzzle called life. They learned about the Beauty and the difference of their cultures, their races, and their skin colors and languages. I could have just read a story to them but them being able to paint themselves with the understanding that this is what they look like in the eyes of other people and for them to be able to choose their own paint that represents them made such a big difference. I believe this project brought them together and taught them to appreciate each other more than before and you made that possible, so again from the bottom of my heart I thank you.”

  • Let's Laminate! The Planet Deserves To Be Preserved

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

This laminator has made so much difference in our classroom. The children are able to have their work preserved and can revisit it time and time again. The worksheets that we used we can go over the material with dry erase markers and not continually make copies. They are delighted that they are cutting down the number of paper used and garbage created. They love the fact that they are contributing to the health of the Earth and the stoppage of waste. They have learned to use the laminator and at times ask independently if they can go and laminate their work. I love this machine and what it's done for the children. It has created Independence and pride in their work. I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.”

  • You Can Count on Me for More Than A,B,C's

    Funded Dec 7, 2020

As you can imagine it's a new Jay and the new way in our school system. When the Children enter in the morning I have to greet them by taking the temperature and making sure it's safe for them to be in school. The thermometers that you donated our huge help. Having them expedites the process and enables us to get to work much faster.

In order to take the fright out of having to check them every morning, I've taught the children how to work the thermometers and take each other's temperature. I find it's become a fun process rather than a frightening process.

It's amazing how two thermometers can make such a difference in the lives of these children Putting them in charge of checking themselves and each other gives them a sense of control at a time with is surrounded by chaos and fear. I'm grateful to you because I get to see them smile again and having these two thermometers takes the sting out of this whole situation. With a grateful heart I thank you for all that you do.”

I teach astronauts and pilots, lion tamers and spys. My children sing and dance- they jump out of planes- and they walk tight ropes high in the sky. They do this all from their wheelchairs and crutches; with partial paralysis and vision impairment. They do it all at the ages of six and seven. They do it all in their dreams and through their imagination. I teach in a first and second grade bridge that is in a poor neighborhood and extremely low on funds these days. We are over crowded under staffed and quite frankly the Special Education Division has suffered the most cut backs.
