Oral History Through Audio Equipment!
Funded Apr 3, 2012Thank you all for your generous donations! We have quickly began using the materials donated and they have honestly changed my classroom in a great way! The day the package came in the mail, my students were extremely excited to start working with the audio recorders. Students used them last week to write fairy tales about the Byzantine Empire and record themselves telling their story. The next class students listened to their classmates stories and gave them feedback. These audio recorders have really made global history more interactive and engaging.
We have also used the geography worksheets and projections to create a giant map of Africa. As you can see in the images, students are painting over plastic after tracing a map of Africa. Tomorrow we will begin to project a world image to practice geography on a global sense, labeling continents and major oceans. Thank you for making my classroom a more interactive place to be!”

Funded Mar 13, 2012Thank you so very much for your generous donations! My students were so excited to open the boxes of paint when they arrived to my classroom. We have completed magnificent works of art and the students were extremely excited to have quality paint to complete their original drafts, blueprints and sketches. We also received 150 drawing pencils which we desperately needed. Students are currently using them to sketch images for the next unit which involves printmaking. Thank you all so much for making my classroom and my school a better place to learn! My students appreciate all of your support and generosity! ”

Let There Be Light! Art Supplies and Light Box for Students!
Funded Dec 6, 2011Thank you so much for your donations to the project "Let there be Light!" for my 8-12 grade students. In the two months we have used these supplies, I have noticed major change in the classroom. Students take art more seriously because they recognize the quality of their supplies. Students are also more motivated to create because of the exposure to a new medium. Students last month started to create site-specific murals in the school. This is a huge project that will take another month to complete. Students are excited about the work and feel proud that they were given the opportunity to create a permanent piece of artwork in their school community. Students used the light boxes and the markers to begin the initial stages of creating murals.
Students use the Prismacolor markers to create intricate designs and to better understand color theory and color mixing. The light boxes have enabled students to use their initial drawings for final drafts of work and to create murals based on photographs and collage. Currently, we are working on 14 large scale murals in the school. Students are doing a fantastic job and it is all thanks to you!”
