Physics! I'm Building a Friction Lab
Funded Nov 2, 2012This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The friction blocks and pulleys that you donated have helped my students on various labs this year. We've used them to calculate static and kinetic friction on inclined planes. Kinetic friction is tested by using the pulleys and is a more advanced lab activity that the Honors and AP students do. In addition, the acceleration of falling objects can be measured using ticker timers and the pulleys you gave us. Both the general physics class and my AP/IB classes are using them.
Our school population is 60 percent on fee waivers, so without your help, my students would never have had these vital resources. For budding scientists and engineers, a practical experimental experience is one of the most important indicators of continued academic success.
Thank you so much for your help!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Arce-Larreta
Set Of Masses For Physics!
Funded Dec 24, 2012This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The set of masses you donated have helped my students in various lab activities throughout the year. We've used them for calculating density, buoyancy, friction, velocity, acceleration and differentiating between mass and weight. The masses are used in general physics classes as well as in my AP and IB Physics Classes.
Our school has 60 percent of the students on fee waivers, and without your help, my students would never have had these vital resources. For budding scientists, a hands on experimental experience is one of the most important ways we can ensure further academic success.
Thank you so much for your support.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Arce-Larreta
