  • Color Bright Projects!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for the materials. The students were so happy and excited to use the paints when creating their solar system projects. The also love using the new markers and colored pencils to illustrate what they have been learning about the planets.

As you know, I teach a group of students with special needs. They are very capable of learning, but they learn in a different way from other students. They require hands on projects and visuals to make meaning real for them. When I teach a theme, I use as many hands on materials, visuals, photos, and other materials to provide classroom experiences that will lead to learning.

Your generosity has allowed me to create many of the teaching materials that I need. It also allows the students to creatively express their leaning in beautiful and unique ways. My students struggle with reading and writing, but they can still demonstrate growth when they are allowed to be creative. Thank you for supporting our students. You are truly helping to change lives and make learning possible for many students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Batalla

  • Visual Arts and Science Go Hand in Hand!

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

    Dear Donors,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I write this letter. Thank you for showing interest in our class and supporting the work we do everyday. We are using the materials to create rainforest dioramas. Each child researched an endangered animal, and is making colorful creations using the paper, paints, and the rainforest animal collection. I will add some pictures of the students working on their individual projects.

The students were so happy when they saw the boxes being delivered to the classroom. They could hardly believe the generosity of strangers! The students really gain a lot from project based learning experiences. Without your support, this project would not be possible for my students. I teach students with special needs, many of which struggle with basic concepts. When students can create something beautiful and learn reading and writing at the same time, they feel successful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Batalla

  • A New Case for Books!!!

    Funded Dec 20, 2012

I would l to take this opportunity to thank you so much for donating to our project. The bookcase is beautiful! The children love going to the reading corner and sitting down with a great book. Thanks to your generous donations, our class is able to have a cozy reading corner where the children can go to read and relax. The bookcase is big enough for me to organize the books by subject and display them in bins, which makes it easy for the students to select books that are of particular interest to them. Thank you again for making our classroom library an inviting and fun place.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Batalla

    Funded Dec 7, 2012

I can't begin to thank you enough for all of your generous donations to our class. The children were so excited to receive these awesome materials that help to reinforce their beginning phonics skills. I use the magnetic board when teaching whole group lessons and the students really enjoy the hands-on activites that we do with the magnetic letters. They are also so excited to work together in the classroom library to practice beginning and ending sounds. Their favorite game is the alphabet soup. They have learned so much and will continue to grow confident in their skills because of these age/needs appropriate.”

  • Ready to Read...Ready to Learn!!!

    Funded Oct 19, 2012

Thank you for all of your donations to this project. The materials that you helped to fund will teach my special need students the valuable reading readiness skills. The children will benefit from the pack and go games and activities because they provide that visual support that is essential to their understanding. The games will allow the students to work in small groups or independently to review and reinforce what they know. The rhyming pack is excellent in teaching them to listen to the ending sounds of the words, and the pictures serve to increase vocabulary skills.

Students will special needs can learn, but they require alternative methods, additional support, and appropriate resources. Thanks to you, our students will have the most optimal learning environment.

Thank you for believing in my work and believing in my students!”

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the lovely materials for this math project. The students are learning so much are finding math to be easy and fun! The regrouping chart is excellent because it breaks the steps to regrouping in a concrete and visual way. The elapsed time rulers are so great because the students can easily follow along and count back and forward as opposed to clockwise and counter clockwise. I really love these materials because they allow to present math concepts in a new way. Thank you so much for your generosity.”

I am so happy and thankful for your support with this project. Your generosity has truly helped my students to learn all about money with a hands-on approach. These supplies are so helpful because they are visual and engaging for the students. They also allow for the students to manipulate the materials which helps them to grasp concepts that are difficult to learn.
