I believe that the key to a successful life is reading. As a reading teacher and reading coach, I work every day to promote reading proficiency, reading comprehension, and a love of reading. Because of this passion, reading/literacy has shaped my educational life: I currently teach 6-8th advanced reading; I work with 6-8th intensive reading teachers; I host a 7th grade book club twice a week during my lunch period; I host a monthly faculty book club; I advise the Future Problem Solving Club which focuses on research, reading, problem solving, futuristic thinking, and writing; and I work in my school's media center every morning.
