  • Back To School With The Basics

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

I can't begin to thank you enough for your kindness and support to my classroom. You have made an impact on my students and I in multiple ways. We are better able to learn and grow thanks to your generosity.

The materials you donated to our classroom, allows us to use our many educational online resources without disturbing others. We use our headphones to listen to stories, learn how to play chess and get support in math.

The wipe off markers allow us to practice and show the various skills being taught throughout the year. All of the supplies have been used to make our education better. Besides the supplies you have also shown my students that people are kind and caring.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Annunziata

  • Learning In Comfort!

    Funded Feb 16, 2023

My class and I want to thank you for your generosity. The supplies you have gifted our class really support our learning needs. Students now have the opportunity to work in a separate area in chairs that allow them to feel comfy and excited about their work. The supply bins allow them to bring their necessary supplies to different areas of the room, allowing them movement and independence throughout the day. Lastly, your gifts just showed my students that there are people who are kind and willing to support their learning needs outside of our school.”

  • Books Needed for Eager Learners

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you for your generous gift to my students and I. The books you donated to my classroom has not only given students enjoyment, but has allowed them to practice the many reading skills we are learning throughout the year with books on their levels. We have worked on non fiction text features, story elements, and character development so far this year.

In my classroom after a whole class reading experience the students are given twenty minutes of independent or small group reading time. It is during this time either on their own or with me they practice the skills modeled with a book of their own.

The books donated have allowed my students the opportunity to practice and build the necessary reading skills.

While all the students shared in my excitement of adding new books to our library, my lower readers showed a real appreciation on having new titles to read. Many of the boys in my class have really enjoyed the nonfiction texts that arrived in this package. Once again my class and I truly appreciate your generosity.”

  • Learning Together and Apart Safely

    Funded Aug 8, 2020

Thank you so much for showing my class and I such generosity. The resources you purchased will allow my students to have access to crayons and a white board at home. This allows them to complete the activities we do in the classroom from home. We have been sharing math strategies using the white boards daily, allowing them to practice and me to asses learning.

The studnets and parents were so excited to learn they would have these supplies to be kept at home to make online learning less stressful for all.

I hope to continue to use these supplies to develop skills in math, reading and writing. Thank you again for making a challenging year a little easier.”

  • Learning Together While Apart

    Funded Jun 1, 2020

Thank you does not seem enough to express the gratitude my students and I are feeling for the generosity you showed our classroom community. Your donation has allowed me to model various strategies for my students on the large wipe off board or chart paper while working online. Being able to share strategies and models for my students has really helped them grasp concepts in these different learning times. My students are also benefitting form the amazing journals you gifted us. I was able to receive two different levels, so I could match the student to his or her ability.

The first time I modeled how to represent fractions on the white board for my students the smiles and relief on their faces was priceless, the concept really hit home for them. Then when we were able to deliver the journals to them it was amazing! They were so grateful that people were caring enough to hep them continue learning in ways that they were familiar with and having their own personal journal just made the gift that much more special.

Again I thank you for helping me reach my students when I could not physically be with them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Annunziata

  • The Gift of Reading

    Funded Feb 27, 2015

I am not sure words can fully express how much your generosity has meant to me class and I. When the package arrived and I opened it in front of my students, the awe and excitement was written all over the faces. They were excited to read new books, that were not only fun and interesting, but on their own personal levels. As time went on, I overheard students recommending these new books to their friends, saying, "This was a great book" or " You need to read this book". This is something as a teacher you hope to hear from your students. Then once we set up learning centers, the kids in my class were eager to use and learn from them. They thought this was such a cool way to learn, "It feels like we are playing a game", they said!

Thanks to your donation to the room, I was able to set up individual reading bags for each student with books on their reading level. I was able to give them the practice they needed to become better readers. My students were excited to switch books and read them to parents at home. The file folder game were set up as various centers in my classroom. Again students were given an opportunity to practice specific skills based on individual needs. The file folders are set up in a way that allows kids to reinforce skills in a fun, stress-free way.

The materials we received thanks to your generosity helped me meet my students needs on an individual level. This was something I wasn't able to do because of the wide range of academic abilities in my room. My students were able to master the skills they needed and then move on to the next set of skills. Not only did you help 3rd graders become better readers, you showed them that people can be generous and caring. Thank you again for the impact you had on my students and I.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Annunziata

  • Third Grade Superstars!

    Funded Oct 15, 2013

I can not thank you enough for your generous donation to me and my students. The journals we received have been used and enjoyed by each of my students. The fact that the journals come in various levels allow all students the chance to work independently in them. My class looks forward to the time I allow them to work in the journals. They feel these journals help them practice the skills we have been learning in the classroom. They are becoming better readers and writers thanks to your gift!

I am able to use the various journals in a small group setting and work with the students on their level and needs. Having the different grade levels allow each of my students, some who are English Language Learner and some who are Learning Disabled, to work at their own pace and not become frustrated. We have worked on building vocabulary, reading comprehension strategies, and writing skills. I have seen my students grasp new concepts or become in many areas thanks to working with the journals. The reading comprehension journals has made my students better readers. They are learning to read for meaning and making connection to passages on their reading levels. Overall your gift has helped my students in their learning and their confidence level. Thank you again for helping me help a wonderful group of third graders succeed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Annunziata

  • Third Graders Want Technology!

    Funded Dec 20, 2010

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. Your gift of a laptop, has allowed more of my students to gain access to a computer. We are able to use it for research, educational websites and games, as well as for publishing our reports. Students who do not have a computer at home are learning the very necessary computer skills and able to practice while in the classroom.

Your gift not only has made a difference in my students education., You have taught them about the kindness and generosity of others. I hope they keep them with them for all their lives. Thank you once again.”

  • Decoding Our Way to Become Great Readers!

    Funded Dec 14, 2010

I can not express how grateful my students and I are for your generous gift to our classroom. The materials you sent to my classroom have given my students new ways to practice the necessary decoding skills to become fluent readers. The CD activities allow them the opportunity to listen to the proper sounds and blends various letters make together. Then they can go to the write and build kit to read passages using these same sounds. They are becoming more confident readers due to the practice these materials provide. Knowing there are such supporters of education willing to help our classrooms is a priceless gift and I again thank you.”

  • Ready Readers Need Books!

    Funded Dec 15, 2010

I am not sure words can fully express my gratitude for the gifts you donated to my students. Your donation of books on various reading levels and a wide range of subjects got my students excited about reading again. The new books were able to bring in a feeling of excitement and anticapation. Thanks to the different levels, there were books for all the readers in my room. My students were not only reading these books, but talking about them to one another. I would hear them comparing books, recommending books, or telling what they liked most about the books. This is what we as teachers want for our students, to fall in love with reading. I truly believe your gift of books was also a gift for the love of reading books, and that is priceless.”
