Tigers Can Learn Anywhere!
Funded Nov 26, 2018Thank you so much for contributing to our project. When the mobile desks first arrived, I just put them up front without and explanation. It was fun watching students try to determine what they were and how they were used. Once they realized they were portable desks, that became their seating option of choice. The mobile desks are used all of the time.
My students have especially loved using the mobile desks when we are doing projects with Spheros or other devices. They can sit on the floor and work comfortably or sit in a chair and use it as a desk. It is the perfect size to hold their chromebook, an iPad or a notebook.
Our goal is to add additional styles of flexible seating to make learning more enjoyable and comfortable.
Thank you again for your supporting our project.”

Funded Aug 22, 2018Thank you so much for supporting our students. Since receiving the Microbits, approximately 1/3 of the students in our school have had the opportunity to code and create projects.
Students have programmed the Microbits to make blinking heart pins and scrolling marquee signs. Through more advanced coding, students programmed the Microbits to help them play Rock, Paper, Scissors when they were shaken. We held class tournaments at the end of each project.
Students have enjoyed learning to code using the Microbits. Between the on-screen simulator and the ease of loading the programs on to the devices, students can receive immediate feedback regarding their success. This encourages them to try things on their own.
All of the students in our school will have the opportunity to learn to create with Microbits by the end of the school year. Those interested in learning more will be able to explore more in-depth coding activities during our Friday Munch and Make sessions, during clubs, and specific activities planned with teachers.
Our next step is to secure funding to add more Microbits. The students enjoy them so much, they want to create their own inventions. They don't want to share!
Thank you again for making this opportunity possible for our students.”
