Fabulously Fluent
Funded Dec 2, 2023Thank you for supporting my "Fabulously Fluent" project. We have 2 of the phones in our classroom and the students yearn to use them. Now each student will have their own fluency phone and this will help them practice fluently reading and also develop their speaking skills. Thank you very much.”

Check Mate
Funded Feb 14, 2023Since we received the chess boards from your generous donations, I have been so pleasantly surprised how often the students ask to play chess during free time, instead of Minecraft on the computer. I cannot emphasize enough how this has improved both the behavior in the class as well as their ability to concentrate and strategize. The students who are more skilled and experienced have learned how to mentor and teach with patience (most of the time) the students who are novices.
The effects have extended beyond my classroom. The fourth grade classroom across the hall saw the students playing chess and asked to share the boards. We are now in the finals of a tournament of my students against theirs and they are so engaged in the matches that you could hear a pin drop!
Next steps: I am proposing that we have a Chess Club in our school next year! Thank you for making this possible!”

American History Comes to Life!
Funded May 9, 2023It is with the utmost gratitude that I thank you for helping fund our "Bring American History to Life" project. It will be shared and enjoyed, not just by my class this year, but I will share amongst the 4th grade (almost 200 students) and re-use the costumes as long as I'm teaching!
I'm a huge believer in the importance of learning the facts and the stories that tell human history. Starting with the Revolutionary War and how we all came to America for what the founding fathers and the patriots fought so hard for, and sacrificed so much to achieve, history informs us of who came before, where we are now and hopefully, what lessons we learn to build a better future.
And to dress up and act out the stories really engages the students and makes history fun!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Green
