  • Helping Special Needs Kids Focus and Learn

    Funded Feb 6, 2013

My students and I want to say a special thanks for your generous donation to our Donor's Choose project. You are so kind for making a contribution. We are so thankful to be getting these wonderful sensory supplies. They will make it easier for the students to stay focused and learn during their school occupational therapy sessions. It's always so helpful to have the necessary resources when working with the students.

We are looking forward to the supplies arriving and putting them to good use. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zachry

  • Helping Special Needs Students with Sensory Processing

    Funded Dec 5, 2012

I want to say a special thank you for donating to our project "Helping Special Needs Students with Sensory Processing Disorders." We are so grateful for your generosity and kindness and can't thank you enough.

The students are looking forward to using the new materials. I am super excited because they just arrived today! These materials will help my students with their sensory processing problems so that they can better participate in learning activities. These students have special learning needs and it's important that they are provided every possible opportunity to learn.

Once again, we thank you for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zachry

  • Special Kids Learn to Read

    Funded Nov 23, 2012

Our class is so excited to start using the Jolly Phonics programs that you so graciously provided. We are so thankful that you supported our Donor's Choose project. These materials will help make reading and writing easier to learn for the special students at our school.

This program is sensory-based, so we can learn to read and write through movement, song, and other traditional ways. Because the students that will use this program have learning challenges, the sensory approach will make a positive difference.

We will always be grateful for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zachry

  • Special Needs Students Sharpening Skills Through Art

    Funded Apr 28, 2012

Our group is so excited about the supplies that you purchased for us. When the art easels and canvases arrived, the students could not wait to open the packages. I am looking forward to seeing their skills improve throughout the year as they work on their art therapy projects. We truly appreciate generous people like you, because it gives us the opportunity to carry out fun and creative projects that are good for our fine motor skills. Thanks for your support and for supporting Donors Choose.”

  • Special Kids Helping Special Kids

    Funded Mar 17, 2012

Wow, I can't even begin to express how thankful the students and I are for the supplies that you so graciously provided. The children were so excited when the paints and canvases arrived, they couldn't wait to start painting! Their artwork is absolutely amazing, and what is so great about this project is that each student is working on specific educational goals and objectives while completing their paintings. For example, if a child needs to improve his arm and shoulder strength, he wears wrist weights while painting. There are no limits to the skills that we can address!

We truly thank you for your support of our group and of Donor's Choose, and we can't wait to start planning our next project! ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zachry

  • Special Kids Learning Letters

    Funded Feb 17, 2012

We are so excited about the handwriting materials that you donated! We looking forward to learning how to form our letters and spell using the play dough and writing boards. These multi-sensory materials will make it easier for us to learn. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the package so that we can try everything out.

You are so kind to help us out. We will always be thankful for your donation, and we will appreciate your kindness every time we use the materials! You're the best!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zachry

  • Multisensory Writing for Special Needs Students

    Funded Dec 5, 2011

I just want to say thank you for your generous donation to my students. The multi-sensory DVD's and handwriting program that you donated are amazing and have been so helpful to the students every single day. We've used them to learn how to form letters and numbers and even write basic words. A few of my student are starting to write sentences, thanks to your generosity!

Our school's budget is very tight, so we would not have access to these wonderful resources had it not been for your generosity. Having the multi-sensory component to the program makes learning interesting and fun for these special students.

Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in our country would go without.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zachry

The students that I work with are diagnosed with Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy and many other disorders. We are in the state of Tennessee and our resources are limited. These children deserve the best and my hope is that providing this resource will open many doors for these special students.
