  • 4th Grade Success With Seating

    Funded Mar 8, 2017

Thank you so much for the donations to allow us to have this wonderful alternative seating in the classroom! When those big boxes came, my students were so excited to see what had shown up. I opened them at the end of the day and my classroom was buzzing like we were opening presents around the holidays! When I pulled the chairs and balancing pods out of the boxes and started setting them up around my classroom, they couldn't wait to get in the next day and have the opportunity to use them!!!

Having these extra seats has been awesome for my students. I have seen the students that struggle, keep their attention on the task at hand and work quietly on their classwork. They are able to curl up in the bungee chairs and focus. Students who need to stand are able to use the balancing pods to focus part of their mind on balancing and the other on the task at hand. They have loved being given a choice on where they can sit instead of the traditional chairs that most classrooms have to offer.

In an ideal world, I would love to take the traditional seating away from every student and give them the option to use something that makes learning easier for them. I would love to create an environment where students are able to make the choice of what helps them learn the best. I will continue to strive to make the classroom a comfortable environment to guide their learning to be a positive and successful experience!”

    With gratitude,

  • 3rds Grade Math-magicians

    Funded Jan 1, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donations and giving hearts! We have had so much fun learning Math this year with these manipulatives. My students always ask, "Can we go on the Lakeshore Games?" when they are done with work. It is such a joy to see them work cooperatively and individually using these gifts you have all given my classroom. I see smiles, talking, understanding, and excitement for learning from the materials you all provided. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I am cherishing the "ah-ha" moments they are having from being in the centers and on the computers. I am ecstatic to listen to the chatting of students using these materials about what they are learning and how "cool" these games are. It has been so wonderful to know that they are getting the very best education they are entitled to because of the kindness from all of you. I can't put into words the gratitude I feel. We are truly amazed at the kindness that is out there to help our upcoming generation and our future be the best they can be and more!

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

  • Every Student Can Learn, Just Not in the Same Way

    Funded Dec 6, 2012

I cant even begin to express my gratitude and my student's gratitude for these amazing gifts that each of you helped my classroom get. I have seen such an excitment in my students to use these interactive whiteboard games, as they ask me to use them almost everyday. They cheer, they leap out of their seats when they know we are going to play, and they work together to find the answers. There is a soft buzz in my classroom of productive, cooperative learning everyday due to these games!

I have had several people stop by my classroom and ask what my students are doing. They can hear the cheering and excitement down the hallways. I encourage this kind of learning. The games have really made an impact on students that struggle with word sounds, blends, vocabulary, and comprehension. They are so actively involved that they don't even realize they are learning necessary skills in order to pass the SOL tests.

Thank you so much for being such an important role in these kids learning. They are fortunate to have these resources that could never have gotten on my own. I can use them at anytime for small group, whole group, or even individual to meet the needs of each of my students. You have touched the lives of many children and have made their learning experience richer! Thank you so much for the generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Greenawalt

I teach at a Title One public school. A majority of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. We have a very high ELL (English Language Learners) population at my school so not only are we teaching general curriculum, we are also helping students and parents stay connected to everything during the year that usually do not speak English.
