Comfy and Cozy in Kinder
Funded Mar 12, 2023This colorful and exciting carpet has made a huge difference in my student's learning because it has given them their own space to learn. My students were able to recognize the alphabet and letter sounds on the outer edges of the carpet. This is a standard for kindergarten students. I was extremely pleased to have my students read/decode the cvc words in the center of the carpet by the end of the school year.
My students spent time enjoying this new space throughout the day for our morning meeting, whole group instruction, read aloud time, and centers.
Many five year-old children need the freedom to move around and choose their own spot to work and be creative.
This classroom carpet has allowed my students to do just that. :)”

Feeling Fine in Kindergarten!
Funded Apr 7, 2022Your donations have helped provide my students with Play-Doh and accessories to help build their hand muscles as they squeeze and roll the dough.
My students have all fallen behind on their fine motor skills with the pandemic keeping them from of preschools.
With the current push for technology, I have found my students to be lacking those hand muscles needed to begin writing and cutting. It is important to start now to build those muscles before they fall behind.
The play-doh letter stamps have encouraged them to increase letter identification and word-building skills.
Your support has been greatly appreciated!”

👀EYES on Print👀
Funded Jan 31, 2021These individual libraries were sent home with the students after they completed and met their individual reading goals that were set during the month of February. Each child was given 5 books that they can read, use as mentor texts, and share with their parents and siblings. These books will allow them to continue reading and learning while not in school. It will bridge the gap of school and home by giving them resources they might not otherwise have. These books will allow them to continue their learning that they deserve and entrust us to give them.
I really appreciate your generosity!”

Funded Feb 2, 2021My students have to remain in their seats all day, but with these wonderful cushions that you have helped provide my students are able to move around and be active while also being safe and engaged in learning.
I have noticed an increase in student attendance. School is not as daunting with these wonderful "wiggle cushions". They are more focused and are able to sit for longer periods of time. As a result, my students classwork has improved as well. Therefore, they are able to add details and produce quality classwork.
I really appreciate your generosity.”

Creating a Rainbow in a COVID Cloud
Funded Nov 30, 2020Thank you so very much for providing my students with art materials to fill their individual supply bags. These materials are so important to help aid in their creativity as well as pre-writing skills. They are super excited to have "Smelly" markers, crayons and pencils to use to complete their classwork.
Since our classroom is socially distanced due to the virus, each student now has their own art supplies at his/her fingertips. With the help of these additional supplies, my students have their own bag of school supplies to keep in their cubbies and use the days in which they attend school.”

Funded Sep 30, 2020Thank you so very much for providing my students with individual carpet squares to help with social distancing in the classroom. Each student now has his/her own carpet square and they are allow to use them to sit on the floor and distance from each other.
Kindergarten is all about socialization and hands on experiences to aid in early learning.
With the addition of these carpet squares my students will be able to move around the classroom, work in small groups, and join in on circle time without contributing to the spread of germs.
My children are so delighted with the carpet squares! This allows them to have another place to sit other than his/her chair.”

Funded Aug 21, 2018This storage shelf has been a wonderful addition to our classroom. My students are able to quickly and easily access our instruments and visuals that correspond with our learning songs. My students love to sing and dance. Music is a wonderful way to help students grasp and retain many of the new skills we are learning on a daily basis. This new storage unit has been the perfect option to store and allow my students to access song accompaniments when needed throughout the day. Your generous donation has been truly appreciated by all of us.”

Funded Jan 25, 2018Kindergarten students adore bringing their families to school! For our upcoming family fun night, we have invited the children to bring their family members to school. This bright welcoming carpet will provide us with the much needed space! During this time, students will engage in learning games and activities with their families. This not only helps to build relationships between students and their families, but it also helps parents understand kindergarten expectations and things they can do at home to help their child be more successful in school. My kindergarten students and I thank you for your generosity.”

Funded Apr 19, 2017My students have been learning about persuasion and are learning how to write and draw to persuade. In kindergarten we learn about persuasive writing through words and pictures. My kindergarten friends have used the variety of colored paper to create posters, advertisements, pamphlets, and other means of visual media. Students have had the opportunity to use their creativity to persuade their peers through media literacy about a certain topic such as foods, animals, or places to visit. My kindergrtners have already benefited from these materials as they work to improve both their writing and creative art skills. With your help my kindergarten friends now have the materials they need to make this learning possible.”
