  • Learning to Love Libre

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

My students have loved using the Learn Libre website because it not only explains science concepts but each unit provides a hands-on, Montessori-inspired approach to science learning. The program also allows my students to explore topics at their own pace with engaging experiments and activities, while offering a comprehensive "big picture" understanding of scientific concepts through lessons that align with traditional Montessori teachings like "The First Great Lesson" or (how the everything in the world is made of atoms.) We can't wait to continue to use this program to expand our knowledge of so many different science concepts.”

  • Class Novel Sets: Opening Doors to Adventure

    Funded Oct 18, 2024

My students have very much enjoyed our classroom set of Mary Poppins. Their favorite part so far is being able to compare and contrast the difference in the book and the movies. My goal in doing this is so they are able to develop a deeper understanding of literary elements and how books and movies differ by the amount of details included.

We were not able to receive the other class book set but instead were able to replace it with the YOTO reader. This is going to be very helpful for my students who are able to comprehend but aren't yet strong in their fluency for reading. It is a device that allows you to place "Books" into it and it will let them read along with their favorite stories. (Kind of like an upgraded book on tape situation) We are so excited to use the Yoto in our reading center.

Thanks again for your kind donations to our classroom and students. We are so fortunate to have people in the community like you to support our local schools and programs. Without your support we wouldn't be able to make learning THIS fun!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dunlap

  • It's TIME for Fun!

    Funded Aug 11, 2023

My students have been so excited to have access to our TIME for Kids Magazines. They love reading about current events as well as learning about cool facts about history. Their most favorite part is a section where they highlight a "kid of the week" who is making an impact in some way. I love that they are able to see how others are motivated to use their ideas to help others!

My hopes for adding this publication to our classroom was to expose my students to more nonfiction reading structures. In a digital world it is rare for them to see other types of print outside of books and websites. TIME magazines are a great source for teaching nonfiction text features such as labels, diagrams, photos, and table of contents.

Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom. Because of you, my students are able to experience a world beyond their wildest imagine. My hope is that this opens a love for learning and curiosity about the world around them!”

  • Straight to the Point

    Funded May 1, 2023

Because of you all, we were able to use our materials before our school year ended! We used our easel stand to display student reports on natural disasters. It was so nice to have a place to display their work so that everyone could see.

We also put our pencil sharpener straight to work! My students were so happy to have a working electric pencil sharpener again.

Thank you all again for your ongoing support. I look forward to utilizing these materials in the upcoming year! Your generosity means the world to us!”

  • Say It Louder for the Ones in the Back

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for helping our students in purchasing a sound system for our school. We have already put it to use in hosting our first "Hearty Party" for Valentine's Day. Our students were able to dance and sing with classmates and loved ones. We look forward to hosting more parent/student/community activities as well as enhancing field day with our new speakers! Without this equipment funded through donors choose, extra activities like this would not be possible. Thank you for helping us give our students and families the extra support to make memories!”

  • Building Art Creativity to Encourage Learning!

    Funded Nov 15, 2022

Our students have greatly appreciated and enjoyed the new art supplies in our classroom. They put the paint, paper, and pencils to work to create cards, ornaments, and self directed drawings during the holiday season to pair with their writings. My students were full of cheer and smiles when our packages were delivered and I explained how we received them! They were filled with so much love to know there are such kind people willing to support them without even knowing them or being in our class directly! Thank you again for making our wishlist happen and making learning a fun and exciting adventure! We look forward to creating all types of cultural projects and displays as we enter the new year!”

    Funded Jan 23, 2016

Thank you for your support and donation to the needs of my classroom! I am so excited to receive these items and use them in my classroom immediately! My students are going to love their new chair pockets and I can't wait to put the pocket folders to use! I am hoping to bring a little more organization to our room as well as creating good habits in my students. Thanks again for all of your thoughtfulness in supporting our class, school, and community!”

  • Seeing is Doing!

    Funded Aug 14, 2015

Thank you all for donating to our classroom! My students were so excited to start using the iPad as a document camera. My class enjoys using it to share personal writings, favorite books, and cool iPad learning apps! Their favorite thing to do with our document stand is read books aloud to one another during center time. They love pretending to be the teacher. Because of your donation, my students are able to experience new and innovative technologies first hand! Thank you a million for your support!”

  • Dream Big & Read!

    Funded Mar 21, 2014

My students were so excited to receive their new books! They couldn't wait to pick books to add to their independent reading bags. We are using them daily to increase our reading fluency during silent reading time and small group reading. Students are also using them to complete research projects using the non-fiction readers purchased. This project helped me match "just right" books to readers who were having a hard time finding books and stories that interested them. It also allowed my students to figure out what it meant to enjoy reading. Thank you again for all of your support!”

    With gratitude,
