I have been teaching for a total of 15 years with the last three being in kindergarten. As a teacher of young children at various ability levels I understand the importance of creating hands-on, sensory driven educational experiences. This is why I am looking forward to creating a sensory/fine motor station in my classroom! By donating to this project you will be helping me to create ten theme based sensory bins to use at my sensational sensory station. They will be educational and engaging. When using the sensory bins they will be enhancing their fine motor skills, working towards educational goals and standards, developing their language skills, and most importantly having FUN! I will be using the money that I receive to buy plastic storage bins for each theme based sensory bin, various fillers (kinetic sand, pom-poms, shredded paper, and other craft supplies), fine motor tools ( alligator tongs, circle tongs, various digging and scooping utensils) and themed based manipulatives (ocean creatures, farm animals, hearts, pumpkins, etc...) Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is the work of childhood ~Fred Rogers Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my project! If you choose to make a donation I can assure you it will benefit many students for years to come!
