I teach middle school and high school students who mostly come from a very low socioeconomic status. Most of the students receive free or reduced price lunches. Many of them are from single parent homes. Most cannot afford an instrument let alone strings and accessories. It is the school's responsibility to provide the support for the students who cannot help themselves. Finding extra money for trips is very difficult.
