Students will use the book, Love that Dog to help establish a sense of community and positive perspective about their learning in their new classroom. The ultimate goal is to help change the view some students may have about their work. Many students have a difficult time viewing their work or ideas as "worthy". They may struggle with opening up in a new setting with new students and a new teacher.
"Love that Dog" provides students with an non-threating avenue to discuss why we as people may oppress ourselves with fear of failure. Together we will learn from each other.
