Huge Demand for Band
Funded May 6, 2014Thank you for donating the fantastic saxophones to our band program. It is one of the more popular instruments. I always have students requesting to play it, but I constantly have to say no because I do not have an instrument available for them to use. Now I can happily say yes!
My students work very hard to put on good concerts. They come after school and at lunch to practice. They are committed to the program and want the band to grow. They want other students to be able to join so our band can be bigger and play more music. These two saxophones really add a depth of sound to our ensemble. They are a great addition to the band. My students who are playing the saxophones are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn. I am grateful that I can give them that opportunity thanks to you.”

Stand Up For Band!
Funded Feb 22, 2014Thank you for your generous donations that allowed my students to receive new music stands. We had our spring concert, and it was a huge success in large part because of your gifts. With the new music stands they were able to have their music in front them without having to worry. The older stands that we were using broke very easily. During out first concert this year several of them broke on stage. Now they are able to focus entirely on their performance and on their enjoyment.
My students could not be happier with the new stands. When they arrived they were incredibly excited. They learned how to put them together properly and felt like a true band. I would not have been able to give them that feeling without your help.
Again thank you from all of my students and myself. We appreciate all of your support and look forward to using the new music stands for many concerts in the future.”

Big Demand for Band!
Funded Jun 22, 2013When my students saw the new instruments they would get to play they could not contain their excitement. My percussion section yelled "This is so awesome!!" when the package arrived. Their eyes lit up as I unpacked the instruments and showed them how they sound. They eagerly learned how to put the instruments together, and worked extremely hard to be able to play them properly.
My band put on their first concert before the holiday break. They worked incredibly hard to learn "Mickey Mouse March." They stayed after school and came up during lunch. They practiced every chance they could get. The new instruments very much impacted our performance because we could finally hear the percussion section! Before we received these instruments they had been playing on drum pads, and we had nothing resembling a bell kit. The whole band loved having the addition to real percussion sounds!
The performance went extremely well. The students were so proud of themselves. As soon as we played the last note they were asking what music were they going to be able to play next! They are so grateful for your donation to allow them to play real instruments. I am grateful you have allowed me to give them that opportunity to learn and succeed. Thank you for letting them experience what music education has to offer. Thank you for supporting the importance of music education.”

Strum that Guitar!
Funded Feb 19, 2013Thank you for your generous donations that brought 3 guitars to my students. They have always asked about being able to learn to play the guitar, and until we received these instruments I was not able to give them that. Their faces lit up with joy when they knew they were finally going to get the opportunity to learn.
They have already learned simple songs, and the pride that they have when they complete the challenge is priceless. My students are constantly running up to me in the hallway exclaiming their success. Music class is something that they look forward to every day. I am extremely grateful that I can give them that pride and passion for the arts.
Thank you for valuing the arts and supporting my vision for my students. I would not be able to give them these opportunities that I so strongly believe are necessary for their education without your help.”

Music To My Ears!
Funded Oct 29, 2012I would like to express my deepest thanks for your donations that allowed our school to receive a new clarinet and a new trumpet. The students could not be more thrilled and grateful. We still have a waiting list to join, but your donations allowed two more students to be a part of the wonderful band! The students are working incredibly hard and are finding a great deal of satisfaction and confidence through their learning. I have witnessed many amazing moments of them working as a team and helping each other. I have seen students who do not find a lot of success and acceptance in other areas excel and grow. It truly is an incredible sight.
They are improving every week and are excited about performing at the end of the year! My students would not have this opportunity to experience what a band program has to offer without your help. Thank you for giving them that opportunity. It means the world to them and me for your support.”

We Need Instruments!
Funded May 8, 2012I would like to express my deepest appreciation for your generous donation to our school. These clarinets will be used by the most excited and motivated students for years to come. I came into this school with extremely limited supplies and budget, but the enthusiasm from my students was abundant. With your donation I am able to start a small band and have students be able to experience playing a real instrument with real life connections.
These students do not have access to instruments or lessons outside of the school day. Being in band is their only opportunity to learn an instrument. My students have even given up their lunch and recess time to come up to work on their learning once a week and are doing it with no hesitation and with great passion. They will be able to work together as a group and learn how to solve difficult problems that inherently come with learning an instrument. They just learned how to put the instruments together, and already I can see the tremendous growth and success. In some cases being in band and learning an instrument is the only place in school these students feel successful, and I am grateful to be able to give that to them.
Not only have you given them an opportunity that they would not have otherwise, they were just as touched by your generosity as I am. They are so thankful for your gift and it showed them that people care about them and their school community. They are determined to make you proud of them and their accomplishments.”
