  • Hula....Hula Hooping!

    Funded Feb 20, 2025

I am beyond grateful for your interest in this project and your generous donation. All resources purchased through this project will provide an opportunity for my students to move, engage, and enjoy physical activity. Hula hoops are such a simple yet effective piece of equipment that we will put to good use.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. House

  • Let's Get Physical and in Shape

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Every year it gets a little bit harder to engage our middle school students in physical activities. The traditional team sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball are still of interest for many but our population has changed to include a lot more students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Especially girls are often reluctant to participate in team sports and we have been trying to offer more choice for individual or small group activities that are still challenging enough and promote the development of basic motor skills.

The new equipment gives us and our students more options and choice and empowers them to participate in PE in a meaningful way.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. House

  • Soccer Balls!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Starting next week Monday with our 7th/8th grade soccer unit - and we got new soccer balls! Today during class I had a few students help me pump them all up and we got pumped up a little bit too:)

Our soccer balls get used by all 3 grade levels and the soccer teams, so they get kicked around quite a bit. How exciting it is to be able to sort out the ones that are ripping at the seams and replacing them with new shiny ones.

This is another project that directly benefits students in PE and we are all very thankful for all and every donation!!”

    Mrs. House

  • It's Football Time!

    Funded Jul 25, 2024

Finally, those little hands can grab a football as well! At our school we have 3 grade levels (6th,7th,8th) but had only regulation size footballs available for our students so far. Look no further, the smaller ones arrived!

Most of our 6th grade students or even 7th and 8th grade students who have smaller hands, often struggle with the correct grip for the larger footballs. Having the smaller ones will make a world of a difference.

They now can confidently grip a football and practice throwing with the correct technique which was a huge challenge beforehand.

I had a few students help me pump up the new balls in the locker room and they were so excited, they had to have a few practice throws right away.

    Thank you for your support!”

    Mrs. House

  • Volleyball Anyone?

    Funded Jul 23, 2024

We are ready to serve, set and spike with these new volleyballs.

Students have already been using them during our morning open gym hours and were excited to try out brand new balls that feel very smooth. In the upcoming month all 3 grade levels (6th, 7th,8th) at my school will take advantage of the new volleyballs during our sports units.

A couple students were available to help get them all pumped up and ready and were so proud to see all those new volleyballs rolled into the gym. One student exclaimed:" Mrs. House, this is almost like Christmas."

We are ready to have a fantastic volleyball unit!”

  • Resistance Bands Needed for Improving Strength

    Funded Feb 27, 2024

The resistance bands are being used for a variety of strength exercises. We do not have a weight room at our school but regular strength training is very important for young adolescents. Resistance bands are just as effective for building muscular strength as free weights or weight machines.

The resistance bands come in a variety or strength which allows each student to choose the correct resistance according to their age, gender, and even differentiate depending on what muscles are targeted.

We will start incorporating these especially during fitness days in stations where we train specifically muscular endurance and muscular strength.

I am so thankful for your donation to this project. I now have a complete class set of resistance bands for years to use.”

  • Hula Hooping Exercisin'

    Funded Dec 14, 2023

With your donation you helped my students and my department colleagues receive equipment they can use in PE class. We use our equipment almost daily and with that much use, the life of many things is often cut short. The new hula hoops will replace the ones that broke recently or are in dire need of replacing. Our students love to play a game called "castleball", where they build "castles" out of hula hoops and each team tries to knock down the other team's castles from a safe distance with gator balls. We now can add this game back into our fun Fridays.

It always amazes me how many generous people/companies are out there , ready to support their small or big community. It gives us teachers a great boost, those moments, when you realize your project just got funded.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. House

  • Flying Discs!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

New discs are flying! Two teachers in the PE department just finished an ultimate unit and we "lost" about 15% of our equipment to tear and wear. With the other teacher starting his ultimate unit next week, the new discs arrived at a perfect time.

We love to be able to have enough equipment so every student has the opportunity to practice without having to share. Your donation improves the learning environment of our classes and we couldn't do it without your generosity.

PE equipment always seems to be the last thing that gets funded in our building and we are now ready again for hours of fun and practice!”

  • Sport Balls Meet Organization

    Funded Sep 10, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to this project, We received 6 sturdy ball bags that we can use not only for balls but any kind of equipment we need to haul either from the equipment room to the gym or to the outside field and back.

They easily hold a total of 10-12 soccer balls. Two bags and as a teacher I am set for my class. I love how sturdy those bags are and they will survive daily use for a long time.

They are also great for storing equipment and will help to organize our equipment room, where all sorts of equipment from discs to volleyballs and footballs are bouncing around.”

  • Bump Set Spike

    Funded May 10, 2023

With your donation you helped my students receive equipment they can use in PE class to improve their volleyball skills. We use our equipment almost daily and with that many hands and bodies getting tangled up in a volleyball net, the life of it is inevitably cut short. The new nets will replace the ones with big holes. Additionally, getting 6 new volleyballs is exciting, finally it's time to retire some of the worn out ones that need air daily and can't make it through a full day of PE classes.

It always amazes me how many generous people/companies are out there , ready to support their small or big community. It gives us teachers a great boost, those moments, when you realize your project just got funded.”

My students are part of a very diverse community. They come from all over the world. We have lots of Mexicans, Pacific Islanders and immigrants from Africa. Most of them have very little resources at home that would allow them to be involved in an organized sport. Showing them lots of opportunities to be physically active with little or no cost involved helps them to appreciate fitness.
