Third and fourth grade students around the world have not had a normal school year with in-person instruction since kindergarten and first grade. For students with specific learning disabilities missing those foundational years of phonics instruction has increased their learning deficits making it hard for them to keep up with their non-disabled peers in the general education learning environment, despite accommodations. The Dragon Touch tablets that I am requesting will be used for individual and small group basic reading instruction and skill-building. These tablets will help the students and me become more efficient when working on our curriculum reading apps. Students will have access to the tablets for independent reading during our Drop Everything And Read time. They can access our district's digital library, which is full of eBooks and audiobooks. Let's not forget math! Some of the resource students in my classroom need additional math practice. The Dragon Touch tablets can also be used in math centers.
