Literature for Learners
Funded Jan 24, 2018This gift of books to my first grade classroom has been a real treat. My lowest readers now have books they can look through that are real stories. In our first grade class the reading levels vary from students who can only identify letters to students reading chapter books. There is little literature available for the lowest readers and the students are forced to read old books that only have one or two pages and no real story. These new books look exactly like the higher level books! The emergent readers can now feel like they are reading. This confidence booster alone will help them to become successful. Your impact on these readers will help them reach their goals and learn to read!”

Mrs. Adair
Learning Through Modern Technology
Funded Dec 3, 2016In a world that is driven by technology, our youngest learners are now better able to access the technology inside the classroom. There are not enough computers for each student to work on at the same time. But now with our printed material, the students are able to use both the computers and they have access to a hard copy of the information. Some programs the students use assess them. I am able to print out the successes the students have, so they can take something tangible home to show off.
My students are working on non-fiction writing pieces. They will author informational texts on an animal of their choosing. They were each able to receive their own packet to use for research printed off the computer. They loved the idea of being a real author and having something of their own to use in the planning process. It would not have been possible without the ability to print.
Thank you giving my class the resources to be able to do projects like this.”

Mrs. Adair
