I have two classes of sixth graders who LOVE to read books in series. Even my reluctant readers are finding a series to get "hooked on." The problem I'm facing is not having enough books to support them! Our library class has been taken out of our school due to budget cuts. Now my classroom library that I have spent 12 years building is missing books, and some are in terrible shape after so much use. My library that was intended for 30 students is now needed for 60 students in both of my ELA classes. Lots of independent reading is vital for kids to grow as readers.
