Developing Lifelong Readers
Funded Aug 31, 2023Thank you so much for your very generous donations! I am so excited to begin some novel studies with my students. We are currently reading short stories to develop and practice skills that we will need when tackling a larger text. Currently, we are practicing asking questions and finding evidence to help us answer these questions. It is fun to see the different ways my students interpret a text. I can't wait to see my students engage with diverse texts.
The other supplies have been very useful as well. Thank you for the impact you made on my students!”

Funded Jan 3, 2014Thank you for your generous donations of stations and games for math. My students LOVE the stations and games. After using stations, I asked my students to give feedback about the stations. One student wrote, "I liked my station because it gave me a chance to have fun while working." Another student wrote, "I loved this station because it gave me a chance to practice division while having fun." Yet another student wrote, "I liked my station because I needed a some practice with fractions." My students are really enjoying the stations and games.
In class, we use the stations and games as an engaging way to practice and review different skills in math. Playing a game to review keeps my students invested and having fun while still learning. These stations have improved my classroom by adding more joy to learning. Thank you so much for your donations!”

MATH: Mistakes Are Totally Hot... When We Learn From Them!
Funded Sep 14, 2013Thank you for supporting my project! The document camera that you helped fund has had a HUGE impact in my classroom. I am able to show examples of student work within seconds. I am able to clear up common misconceptions by showing mistakes on the board through the document camera. Students LOVE being able to find and fix mistakes. They are able to see exactly how to set up and solve problems thanks to you. Students beam with pride when their work is projected onto the board. This document camera has not been in my classroom for long, but has already saved at least an hour of instructional time! Thank you so much for your generous donations!”

Funded Oct 22, 2012This is just a small token of gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The manipulatives, games, and dry erase markers are used on a weekly basis in my class. These donations make Math more engaging for students and reach different learning styles.
With the white board markers, students are excited to show what they know. White boards also make it easier to immediately see who has mastered material and who needs extra help.
The games are a way to increase Math fluency, which is essential to becoming a strong mathematician.
Thank you again for your donation.”
