My students are low income minority students. They are smart and creative students. Among the chaos they live through in the community, they come to school with positive attitudes. My students want to be involved in community events that deal with music and art. I have been able to help them with such events, but it is difficult when we are limited to supplies. They have been praised with the work that they have been able to submit. They become motivated and eager to participate in more events. I continue to encourage them and hope they don't loose interest.
