I have a caseload of 45+ special education students at a public elementary school in Illinois. Each of my students have unique and individual needs. Our school is made up of 55.5% low-income families. Obviously these parents and children don't always have access to the latest, greatest technology. Although the great majority of the particular special education students I work with are low-income, they are still deserving of the best education which includes savvy technology. Nowadays, technology comes with a price. Not only are we buying the item itself, we are also expected to buy the accessories, applications, etc. that coincide with its use.
