Our focus this year is on increasing reading readiness skills. This includes the foundation skills, phonics, letter recognition as well as decoding and segmenting skills. By having a laptop for our class we will be able to incorporate technology to support our struggling students. The ability to expose the students to interactive web sites that support basic phonics skills and interaction and collaboration with peers will support improving literacy skills. Your donations for our project will improve basic reading skills by building foundation reading skills through technology support. The project will make a big difference, because many of our students are not exposed to technology in their homes. This laptop will support students in using technology to build on basic phonics and reading skills through interactive technology.
