Our students live in a typically well to do area of Colorado, but our classrooms have been hit hard by the economy. I teach 170 students a day with up to 40 in a classroom at a time. We just don't have the materials for the number of kids we have anymore. The teenagers that come walking through my door are encouraged to stick with science and engineering through creative projects that make them use their thinking skills. These teenagers have the backgrounds, smarts, and savvy to keep our country tops in higher education and technology fields.
