  • Independent Skills Is What Every Adult Wants!

    Funded Dec 3, 2020

Thank you for your generosity in helping to contribute to my classroom curriculum. These donations have made a great impact in my students learning of real world situations. You have helped to make lesson planning a little less stressful for our team as we adjusted to a digital format. We have cut down on our prep time and were able to open up more time to spend with the students.

We have been able to bring life skills like banking & budgeting, work place social expectations and what is cost to raise children into the classroom while in distance learning through projects. We have taken these materials and transformed them into lessons that are more interactive with programs like Kami to help make pdfs writable.

We are headed back into the classroom and cannot wait to utilize the games to help students to have hands on experiences with using money and the concepts of earning and having to pay for items/bills. We cannot wait to see our students thrive and with your help we now have more material to generate realistic lessons.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Binns

  • Real Life Math Supplies

    Funded Apr 28, 2016

These donations have made a great impact in their learning of real world situations. The use of the games help students to have hands on experience with using money and the concepts of earning and having to pay for items/bills. The calculators are used to help when they need to focus on the ideas of real world math, i.e. contracts and budgeting, and not be boggled down with having to focus on the steps of operations.

The class was super excited to now have calculators in the classroom and not have to always rely on their calculations. They also love game day, which gets them excited about school and I am watching them practice their money skills.

We hope to go on some field trips in the community to have them practice what they have been learning in class. Trips to the bank, grocery store and practice baking will help them connect classroom lessons to life outside of school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Binns

  • Keeping It Real In SPED

    Funded Feb 7, 2016

On behalf of the students and myself, I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU for supporting their education. They were very excited that they had games that help them learn key skills like money and time that is presented in a different format other than worksheets. Having manipulatives and items that look real can really help students who learn best with hands on experiences.

I have really enjoyed seeing the students enjoy coming to school on board game days and excited when they make money or sad that they have to pay money, but these are all real life situations. There are also learning skills for working with other students and what happens if things don't work out the way you wanted.

Your generosity made this project a reality. The support given to these students will help them succeed in getting a better education. Again thank you for these supplies, they will be used for generations of students and I know they really appreciate it!”

  • The Automatic Quadratic

    Funded Dec 5, 2012

On behalf of the students and myself, I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU for supporting their education. They were very excited that they had scientific calculators, they held their heads a little higher in class and you could see they felt equal to their peers. Students were able to check them out for the year, so they felt like they were their own. The other supplies really helped to keep them organized and ready to participate in class.

With more students with learning disabilities going into general education classrooms it is vital that they come with the supplies so they are ready to learn. I think that the more general ed classes we get them into that it will hopefully inspire them to want to go to college.

Your generosity made this project a reality. The support given to these students will help them succeed in getting a better education. Again thank you for these supplies, they will be used for generations of students and I know they really appreciate it!”

  • ABC FAMILY: Promote Anti-Bullying through Art Projects

    Funded Mar 17, 2012

I just want to thank all of you again for helping to fund my project. The students have really enjoyed being in art class. They have been making lots of t-shirts and buttons in support of friends, family and activities they like to do.

Without the donations you have made my students wouldn't of been able to have the fun art activities that made it so they wanted to come to class and keep them from leaving school. They have taken pride in what they have made and wear it around school.

Thank you again for helping to support my classroom. The donations you make to my project and others really help our schools and we all appreciate that you want to support us especially in these hard times!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Binns
