Put a Nickel in the Uke-box!

Thank you all for your kind and generous donation towards the music program at A.J. Smith Elementary. All of the students are excited and thankful for the ukuleles you have helped provide. Since we are a small district with only a band program, I felt it necessary to introduce the students to stringed instruments. You helped make that possible, and it has been a wonderful new experience for students to explore an instrument that is accessible, comfortable, and increasingly popular in music that they are listening to!

Since the instruments arrived, the students have shared with me their interest in creating accompaniments, writing their own songs, and the joy and satisfaction they feel because they can learn and accomplish musical activities quickly on the ukuleles. They are learning to read tablature as well as chord charts, and some students have expressed that they are proud of their accomplishments, while many are asking for their own ukuleles this holiday season!

Thank you again for helping make this project possible. Your generosity has impacted an entire school's music education by providing the students with new ukuleles to explore and learn. Every time we practice our ukes, we are thankful for your kindness! ”
