My third and fourth graders begin their day at 8:30 and do not get lunch until 1:00. This is a really long morning for students. I notice that around 11:00, students stop focusing on the lesson because they are so hungry. Students are allowed to bring a snack from home. Unfortunately, not all of my students can afford to bring a snack every day. Children need nutritious snacks in between meals in order for their brains to continue to grow. I would like to provide healthy snacks for my students, so they can remain focused in class and want to learn!
