  • Seating That Works!

    Funded Jul 10, 2016

I can not thank everyone enough for their generosity. My class is really doing well with flexible seating. My students have an opportunity to pick a place to sit that allows them to do their best work. And they are doing better this year and I am have less discipline problems. This year I have the largest class I have ever taught, 25 kids! If I had traditional desks my students would not have much space to move around or to work on their center work. But with our tables we have plenty of room! Thank you again for helping my students this year. It means the world to me.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Herring

  • Let's learn with Rekenrek!!!

    Funded Sep 5, 2014

Thank you so much for donating to my class. Because of your generosity we have a class set of Rekenreks. I love my students and want the very best for them. It is so hard to give them the resources they need on my own. When our package arrived they were so excited. People they did not even know cared about them!

My students now have a stronger number sense by using the Rekenreks. They are able to "see" numbers now. Students who were not able to grasp the idea of adding and subtracting now are showing improvement in their class and district assessments. One of the hardest concepts for them to learn this year was equal equations. I used the Rekenreks to show them how to make balanced equations. They finally were able to understand the concept!

Thank you again for your generosity. I am forever grateful”

  • The "Write" Stuff

    Funded Jul 18, 2013

Thank you for donating to my project. My students were thrilled to receive their writing materials. They love having their own writing journal and a place to keep it. They clapped their hands and squealed when I explained they were going to be able to keep their special writing projects in a special journal. This is the first year we have had all the materials we needed to fully start writers workshop. My student's writing has improved already! They are learning to be writers and now are excited about writing. Thank you for giving us the tools we need to succeed!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Herring

My students come from high poverty communities. They are the sweetest bunch of kids you will ever meet. I teach the pre-production class at my school. That means all of my students are struggling to learn the english language.
