My students I teach are English Language Learners that speak a variety of home languages including Zomi, Spanish, and Afrikaans. The majority of my students' language is Zomi and they come from the country of Myanmar (Burma). Many of my students and families I serve are political refugees. Most have been to refugee camps in Thailand and Malaysia before coming to our school. The students at our school are excited about learning a new language and our staff has welcomed these families. We want to do everything we can to provide our students with the appropriate education to meet their needs and be successful in school and in life.
