Wipe and Write
Funded Dec 22, 2024I am appreciative of your generosity. The resources from this project will allow us to build an environment of not sharing germs.
Since we write daily, we use a lot of crayons. Now, each student will restock their toolbox and continue with exhibiting creativity this upcoming semester. Thank you again!”

Cutting Up in PreK
Funded Mar 20, 2023Thanks for sponsoring my class with a Cricut machine and resources. I have been able to create and design some awesome things. I was able to effectively integrate the use of computer technology into the classroom curriculum. With this integration, we created some beautiful bulletin boards to showcase student's authentic products. We designed t-shirts for the end of the year. I presented their t-shirts in some awesome bins personalized with their names on the front. Students were encouraged to use these bins to hold library books that were donated to my class also.
At the end of the year, I had some scholars that were reading. I made personalized door hangers for their bedrooms. These doorhangers encouraged them to read at least 10 minutes a day.
The Cricut machine was a "life saver" when it came to cutting letters, shapes, numbers, etc. for projects or daily workstation activities. I was also able to cut down on my classroom preparation time by using the machine to label all my students personal learning tools.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thanks to your generosity, my scholars kept their heads, necks and hands warm this Winter. They absolutely love their caps and gloves. My parents were very appreciative of the outer garments also.
These Winter garments were given for Christmas gifts. Each student had a Christmas theme bag with very intentional items they needed and loved. So when they returned to the campus after the Winter break, they came into the building showing off what Santa brought them. It felt good knowing that caring people donated funds to put those smiles on their faces.”

Funded Nov 30, 2022In my Prekindergarten class, reading is a non-negotiable. I read a minimum of 4 books daily. Books are integrated into every content: ELA,Math,Science, and Social Studies.
Literacy is the the nucleus of all my instruction. Therefore, I model and encourage independent reading every day. My class consist of 3-5 year old students. Some of which have not been exposed to books. After I read a book, I rotate it on the student tables so that every student can read it again independently. My students have an opportunity to read books before and during breakfast, after completing tasks during the day and during the dismissal prep time.”

Back to the Basics
Funded Sep 7, 2022The resources from this project has been instrumental in making my classroom organized and sanitized. In a Prekindergarten classroom, the students use all of these supplies daily. Often times, students do not know how to take care of the supplies. So teaching them how to use all the supplies is a lesson in itself. I explain to my scholars that some very generous people made sure we have what we need to be successful and/or sanitary.
This year has been extremely financially challenging for my parents. In past years, I have picked up the financial slack and bought whatever my class needs out of my personal finances. This year, I was not able to take on that additional financial burden. Therefore, your generosity is appreciated.”

Funded Apr 19, 2022Thank you for providing the AWESOME books that have characters that look like my students. The books support our social-emotional learning curriculum.
The books led to conversations of self gratitude, appreciation and self love. They loaded the foundation to create a self love mindset. Some questions that came up after reading each book was: What do you love about yourself? What are some things you are good at?
The books helped to build self confidence. Each student had to look in the classroom mirror and repeat affirmations like: I love myself, I love my hair, I love my brown skin, I love my nose. This confidence has carried over into their academics. The end result is priceless.”

Funded Dec 22, 2021My classroom environment has not been the same since we received the headphones. Each student has their own (individual) headphone that is labeled and secured in their personal area of the classroom. The serenity of technology time is amazing. Everyone can stay focused on their assignment (which is often differentiated based on their individual learning plan).
Students having their own headphones also reduces the concern about germs. Students are responsible for wiping off their headphones before and after using them. The student's name is on his/her headphone (so no sharing).
The headphones reduces the noise level of the environment which allows no distristractions. The headphones allow us to maximize the benefits of audio-based learning.”

Light Up Learning
Funded Nov 15, 2021My classroom has not been the same since I received the resources. My students are always ecstatic when they are assigned to the light table. It has become the most popular workstation in the classroom. I am grateful to you for bringing a "spark of excitement" back into my classroom.
The lighted surface draws the students in and enhances their learning. It is perfect for those visual learners. The light table makes the visuals the main feature of the student's learning. This enhances the colors and provokes their imagination. It provides awesome sensory play opportunities. My students can spend endless amount of time working on their skills: fine motor development, pre-writing skills, hand and eye coordination, color recognition and do much more.”

Funded Nov 15, 2021I started the year without a carpet due to the district's compliance with the CDC. Although my students enjoyed coming to school and participating in their daily learning tasks, something was missing. The learning environment was print rich and stimulating but a major component (a carpet) of our learning environment was not there.
My students wrote a letter to Santa asking for a classroom carpet. Words cannot explain their expressions, the morning they walked into the classroom and spotted the carpet. They started to jump up and down screaming, "Santa's elves brought us a carpet. We have been enjoying our gift everyday.”

Funded Aug 17, 2021This has been a year of teaching beyond COVID-19. My scholars and I have been navigating unprecedented challenges. The items you funded have supported my scholars academically, socially and emotionally. Your donations gave my class items that are often provided by their families as a part of their back to school supplies. Due to the pandemic and the traumas that some of our families have endured, our campus did not request any supplies this school year. However, your generosity provided a sense of normalcy in terms of the students having the essentials (backpacks, sanitizing items, snacks).
My students can focus on the learning process. These resources allow me the opportunity to build a seamless system of educating the whole child. I am able to maximize instructional time, while still adhering to demands of teaching during a pandemic.
My students are able to keep their personal learning tools organized while I am able to focus on explicit instruction.”
