Inspiring Future Learners and Leaders
Funded Jan 4, 2011Thank you so much for the donations that helped purchase a projector and beanbag chairs for my classroom. Both of these items have had an amazing impact on my classroom and my students. The projector is used in conjunction with a document projector on an almost daily basis. It allows me to easily model reading, writing and math strategies for students. I can also display students' individual workbooks or writing to highlight exemplary work. This provides a tremendous boost to my students, particularly non-native language speakers. I can also display color photos to help increase the vocabulary of my English language learners.
The students love having the beanbag chairs in our library! They sit together to share books and it provides an area for my students to relax and immerse themselves in literature.
The kindness of donors such as yourselves has allowed me to bring experiences and activities to my children that will have long-lasting impact. Once again, thank you very much for your generosity and selflessness.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Dunlop

Funded Nov 11, 2010I (and my students) truly appreciate the materials you helped fund for our classroom. The students have really been enjoying the new reading games and activities that were purchased for us. The learning center which contains these materials is the most popular one in my classroom!
For the majority of my students, English is not their native language and I must therefore constantly develop and reinforce basic grammar, language and vocabulary skills. These games have helped my students practice these skills in an enjoyable way. The impact these materials have had in my classroom is evident, as I often hear students make connections between our reading activities and skills they have practiced at the center.
Public school budgets have become increasingly tight over the past several years and we are lucky to receive "basics" at times. Enrichment materials like the ones I have received would be impossible for me to purchase on my own, yet can be used over and over again for years to come. Thank you again for making a lasting impact on the education of my students!”

Listening Library For My Third Grade Students
Funded Oct 16, 2008Thank you so much for funding my proposal! My students are always excited to read and listen to new books, and this new listening library will provide hours of educational and enjoyable activities for them. My students will be using these books on tape to hear examples of fluent reading, learn English and practice listening activities for upcoming state English exams. Again, thank you for donating to my students and helping to enrich children's lives”

Using Technology to Aid Student Fluency
Funded Dec 22, 2007Thank you so much for funding my proposal!! This is a wonderful holiday gift for me, as I am now so excited to institute the use of the voice recorders in my classroom. After months spent preparing for state tests, I think this new activity will help and stimulate my students to become more fluent readers. I plan to have them record books on tape for younger grades as well, once they have attained a proper level of fluency, so this really will be the gift that keeps on giving!! Once again thank you so much - to me, you are an angel. ”

Mrs. Dunlop
