  • South Bronx Teaching Tolerance

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

Thank you for your generous donations. Needless to say, our student were both surprised and overwhelmed with joy that others outside the school believe in them.

I shared the material with the students. They are all assigned a group project on tolerance and self regulation. They chose some topics such as Gay rights and transgender rights. They also are doing a project on immigration and the hurdles they face and bullying. Each group was assigned different donations and they worked it out themselves how to share it.

I cannot wait to see the results. Thank you!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Kids Need Coping Help

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

We cannot thank you enough. Now when I get stressed on a test, I can take a walk and bounce my stress ball.

I used to get in trouble using my cellphone in class, now I can play with my stress ball and i do not get in trouble.

The Dean allows me time to have a catch to release my anger when I feel i am unable to control it. I am more focused now.

The bouncy stress ball helps keep me focused in class. I have noticed I am on task and understanding more of the lesson now.”

  • South Bronx Needs A Camera

    Funded Dec 6, 2016

Our students are already in possession of your generous donation. Step 1 was for them as a team, they needed to assemble the camera and in teams work on how to figure out all the accessories. It was beyond impactful seeing how well they worked in teams to teach each other how to use the camera.

Step 2 was for them in teams to decide on a schedule of what groups to use the camera first. They decided on filming the PSAL Varsity game and practice. The love and joy that followed was priceless. The team loved it as they were able to share video and film to their family! The school was able to show it on our daily announcement cameras. The club is helping us feel more connected!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Students Need Some Love

    Funded Sep 16, 2016

    Dear Donors:

Many of our students simply need more time to process information. Also, many times, students may come late and miss part of the lesson. Lastly, sometimes, students need music to focus or calm themselves. Before, this was not possible to address in the manner that had the best impact on the student in need. We have procedures, but they were not as effective as using technology.

Thanks to your generous gift, students now can use the Headphones to catch up HW, get the mini lesson or go to a link to get remedial help.

The students are truly loving this!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Seeking Help

    Funded Mar 30, 2016

Thank you so much! First, our students could not believe someone donated the cameras pieces. Second, they could not believe they could take it home so they could share a story and connect it to any subject they chose so they could make learning more real. It also has allowed teachers to get more connected to students and learn about there culture. Sharing the photos has deepened the conversations in the class and it allowed more voices to be heard. It provided a forum students who normally did not speak shared out.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • Wii Fitness Club South Bronx

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

Wow! What an impact you donation has already happened. We are able to offer a safe place to allow many students to feel apart of something. It has helped teachers provide a place to use as an incentive to do their HW and participate in class and simply get to school on time!

We have seen an impact in attendance and grades. Most importantly, it has helped students share with students they might not have interacted with and learn they have more in common with there peers than they think. It has provided a space for us teachers to connect to students on there terms and truly learn about them.”

  • South Bronx Needs Camera Love

    Funded Dec 17, 2015

Words cannot express our gratitude. With your help, we are now able to use are craziness! We love to be dramatic. We love to share our culture. Our club has allowed each of us to take turns using the cameras. We have learned so much about each other. For example, we learned about the different spices of Trinidad and how they treat dogs. Many of us have used the cameras to explore calculus in our neighborhoods. Most of all, we have had made relationships with our peers through the use of real pictures!”

  • South Bronx Math Stars Need Love

    Funded Sep 2, 2015

We received a Windows Surface Pro. Needless to say, it was a fantastic way to star the new year. My students were thrilled when we opened it up as a class. Yes, they know how to get around better than I do! They were so excited to be know that all year they would be using it. Each group will rotate. They will be able to make math and science come to life. They were most excited about showing math in their area and how they use.

Each group has a project. The first group applied slope to sports in their own parks. They used soccer, football and even jump rope. They also used applied science with speed of the train. They used music and still photos to present an amazing PowerPoint.

The students learning vastly improved. The best part is the student engagement! Students who would normally be off task or unfocused were on point.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

I teach 6th-8th grade math. Our students are wonderful but come from underprivileged areas. Thus, they are not exposed to technology and miss the incredible power it has to help them learn.
