  • South Bronx Mental Health Stories

    Funded Feb 21, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for all your help with this donation. Students were thrilled to work on this legacy project. They were able to create video's on conducting restorative circles and self regulation practices. In turn, share these practices to both adult advisory teachers and middle school students in our building. The feedback has been tremendous by both the teachers and the students. the true power is that it is coming from students helping students. The authentic power of sharing hurts and pains.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Mental Health Needs

    Funded Jan 15, 2019

Thank so much for your caring so much that you took time to donate. today was a great day. The students were shocked in joy to see the Echo.

We did a restorative circle with music to teach self regulation. We then transitioned to deep breathing and they were able to watch the screen and perform. They learned valuable self regulation skills that they can use in school to keep them self regulated and use outside the school setting.

We then did some basic yoga which help them learn again a valuable skill for both the school and life long.”

  • South Bronx Needs Access to Stem

    Funded Dec 19, 2018

Thank you so much for caring about us and the lack of resources to the most needy.

Needless to say, our students were overwhelmed with joy and gratitude that someone thought of them. They were so excited to use actual games and real like projects to understand science with Stem projects. We were able to have them work in several stations to learn more about STEM and this enabled us to get them excited about math and science. Also we were able to see the engaged and filled with joy!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Help Code!

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

Beyond thankful of your donations. Our students are so worthy but lack the access to future tools of this generation. Materials for stem projects are very hard to support.

The students were able to get hands on coding experience and have fun. Instead of tuning out, they tuned in and started to get inspired about stem. Several students want to research careers in stem now! That by itself is so huge. Many students went back to there science class ready to learn more about the why and how of coding.”

  • South Bronx Mental Health Needs

    Funded Nov 30, 2018

Thank you so much for caring. This project has helped me and moved me so much. My students journey of trauma is overwhelming.

They were truly engaged and reflective. There stories made most of us cry but more importantly they showed the grit and love within them all.

They learned they are not alone! They learned several strategies to overcome and formed lasting relationships and support for each of them as they go through the highs and lows of day to day life. They realize they can change and it starts by being honest.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Needs Stress Relief

    Funded Dec 24, 2018

I cannot thank you enough for your donations. Needless to say the students loved it and the effect were both immediate and powerful.

It was amazing that students who normally are so called challenging were the experts and the ones teaching both a teacher and others how to play and use the technology. Relationships were formed, leadership and lagging skill learned and self regulation improved.

It was powerful to share this with other students and teachers to see student leadership.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Students Need Coping Skills

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your both incredible and surprising donation. Needless to say the students using the earphones were thrilled. Normally as a Dean, the students lack skills to cope and deal with the incredible trauma they are under. The teachers do not have the skill sets to understand some mental health issues and often what is created is both a power struggle and cycle of escalating misbehavior that keeps the student away from the very academics they need. But being able to use these wireless headsets with prior coaching with the student, we are able to get them baseline and keep the student in room. The impact has been amazing!”

  • South Bronx Students in Crisis

    Funded Feb 11, 2018

Thank you for your generous donations to our project. Needless to say our students were very grateful. The impact of the ipad is already having significant effects on self regulation to the point where as a school we are thinking of purchasing more next if funding is there next year.

The beauty of the ipad is the ease of use and portability. The teacher is able to save podcasts and videos for individual students or groups to use based on there self regulation that they need help with. We have seen several students learn to pause before actin out already. The impact is profound!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Needs Stress Relief

    Funded Dec 17, 2017

Thank you so much for the donations. We have a lot of students who are anxious and just lack coping skills to deal with the constant trauma they face. Often times students who act out, are crying for help. They need ways to get there stress to baseline so they can stay in the class versus get kicked out.

With your donation, I have tools I can offer students to help the cope. I am also able to train teachers on how to handle kids in crisis and keep them in class and keep the respect and relationship.

    Thanks!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

  • South Bronx Kids Need Coping Skills

    Funded Oct 18, 2017

Needless to say, our students were shocked when I presented them with the donations. Most were shocked about the boogie board and headphones. Teachers needed to be trained to let students use them as some of our students need to learn self regulation skills.

In one class, the teachers used 2 boogies boards and headphones. The 2 students picked were students normally sent out of the classroom. First we met with both students about the expectations and how to utilize the material to self regulate. Both students agreed.

The teacher reported back that both students got a 90 an exit slips and the use of boogie boards was a huge success!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Price

I teach 6th-8th grade math. Our students are wonderful but come from underprivileged areas. Thus, they are not exposed to technology and miss the incredible power it has to help them learn.
