"No More Hungry Tummies"Hurricane Harvey
Funded Jul 30, 2018I truly don't know how to begin to express my gratitude for the donations to our classroom. My students are starting school earlier this year and sometimes we have some students that are tardy and causes them not to eat breakfast. These items has helped diminish significant triggers that can interfere with the learning environment. This donation has helped me feed my students when they are not served breakfast in the morning. This project will help our classroom sail through the end of the year with ease and help us remain our tummies full and stay focus on a daily bases.
The students were so thrilled to see the huge boxes being delivered to our classroom; of course the students had lots of questions and were curious about what was in the boxes. Once I opened the boxes it was breathtaking to see their little faces shine like a star. They have never seen so many healthy snacks in the classroom.
This project has allowed my students to focus tremendously on their studies and not worry about not having nothing to eat. It also provided a tremendous amount of relief as a teacher. I don't have to worry hunting for food while I'm in the middle of teaching. My students have access to the healthy snack box, so while i'm teaching they can automatically get a snack and start eating without disturbing instruction. ”

"Replacement of School Essentials due to Hurricane Harvey"
Funded Sep 7, 2017I truly don't know how to begin to express my gratitude for the donations to our classroom. My students color, glue, write and use their primary notebooks all day every day. These items help diminish significant triggers that can interfere with the learning environment. This donation will help our classroom sail through the end of the year with ease and help us remain focused on our academic progress.
The students were so thrilled to see the huge boxes being delivered to our classroom; of course the students had lots of questions and were curious about what was in the boxes. Once I opened the boxes it was breathtaking to see their little faces shine like a star. They have never seen so many glue sticks, colors, markers, and construction paper in their life.
This project has allowed my students to focus tremendously on their studies and not worry about not having materials to work with. It also provided a tremendous amount of relief to my parents because they didn't have to worry about repurchasing school supplies after Hurricane Harvey.
The resources and materials are being used daily in our classroom. A lot of my kindergartners assignments and works are very authentic, so we have been using a lot of construction paper, crayons to color, and glue to glue their wonderful work. We also have been using the primary notebooks daily for our interactive assignments. These primary notebooks have helped a lot with their writing skills. They are being exposed to the headline, midline, and baseline to write correctly and neatly. The students have an opportunity to clean and wipe their tables with the Clorox wipes that we ordered without feeling left out. This product was greatly appreciated because this keeps my room germ free. Fortunately, everyone has been in school daily which means PERFECT ATTENDANCE for our classroom. They have not lost any instruction time.”

These materials are all hands on and will help them explore and create to master what that particular student is struggling on. He or she might be struggling decoding or phonemic awareness and by using hands on activities this will also help them use their five sense. ”
