  • Writing Our Way to Success!

    First of all, on behalf of myself and the Creative Writing Club, "A BIG Thank You" for supporting us in the creation of our club. Thanks to your generous materials, our club has taken off and students do not need to worry about buying additional materials. We initially began with 10 students and we are now by 20.

    What started off as a club for students to express their creativity and writing skills has now morphed into a club where students not only express themselves in a bully-free environment but students are looking into and pursuing the journalism career that before, had not crossed their minds.

    I want to thank you again for your generous donations. It has helped my students improve their grades as now they have access to a printer. They have been able to print their homework, projects and classwork.

    The printer came at a critical moment for us especially since Hurricane Irma hot Florida. It was difficult for many people because many of my students lost the ability to use their technology. Thanks to your contributions, we were able to quickly get back on track. Their projects are beautiful and their self esteem has gone up since they are able to use the printer for a variety of activities.”

  • Technology for All Learners

    Thank you for opening the doors to the world for my students with your kind generosity. With the technology provided, my students were able to research ideas for their projects, improve their writing and reading skills. Thus, facilitating the acquisition of knowledge not only in Language Arts, but in technological skills as well.

    My students were excited that they were able to access the information needed right from the classroom and were able to work with their classmates to create their projects. They were also excited about using the computers to help them study and bring Literature to life by searching for the places and people we were studying.

    Moreover, I had students who were initially resistant to learning and reading that opened up and began to participate with the aid of the laptops. They became more active and took ownership of their learning. Some in fact, came early in the morning to use the computers to help them improve their reading and technological skills.

    Words cannot explain the feeling of gratitude and the emotions my students and parents feel knowing that they have the world in the palm of their hands right from their desks.”

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew wanted to be a teacher and help students succeed not only in school, but in life. I believe that every child should have a rigorous and real world education without having to worry about if they can afford school supplies for their classes and projects. I work in a school where the majority of the students fall into the low socio-economic range. Many times it is difficult for them to get even the basic of supplies they need for their classes. My classes are composed of regular students and gifted students. Together we can give them all they need to succeed beyond their wildest dreams !

About my class
