FIRST® was founded in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology. The not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative research and robotics programs for students K-12 that motivate students to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills. Over 530,000 participants joined FIRST programs in 2017-2018 from over 95 countries and over 61,000 teams We are excited to be funding FIRST teams and continue to develop the next generation of engineers and scientists.
