  • New Supplies for a New Year!

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

Thank you so much for all of our new supplies! It was so great to start the year with all of the supplies we needed to have a great new school year. The folders we still use every day for every subject. I also was able to hand out new, fun homework folders to every student. The colorful folders never get lost, and the kids love the cute characters on them. Of course we use the pencils and pencil boxes everyday. My room is stocked with prizes and fun, colorful supplies that make the students love to be in their classroom. Thank you for giving this gift to my students!”

  • Microphones and Cables Needed!

    Funded Apr 7, 2021

Thank you so much for the new microphones and cables! Our school has had several events where we have used the microphones already. Our old microphones wouldn't registry sound very well anymore and they were not reliable. It was nice to have microphones we could count on for the spelling bee, board meeting, Christmas play, and various community events that were held in our school this year. Thank you so much for this much needed equipment. It really helped us to meet the needs of our school, and to better serve our students.”

  • Wreck These Journals

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

When I handed out these journals, my students went wild. They absolutely loved the creative art prompts inside. I had students at their desks making lines and circles on their pages, while students in the back were swinging their books around above their heads. Students grabbed the paints and the art supplies and went nuts filling in their pages and having a blast. They then went home where the students continued the fun with their families. Several brought back their completed pages to show the class. Thank you so much for giving this experience to my students!”

  • Books the Kids Will Love

    Funded Mar 14, 2021

I love to fill my classroom library up with books that I know my students will enjoy reading. For this project, I asked the students which books they wished we had in our library. These were the books they chose. My library is now a favorite place for my students, and the books from this projects are always checked out, brought home and shared. Thank you so much for giving all of these new books to my fifth grade students. They will be loved and read by a lot of kids this year, and for many years to come.”

  • Great Books for Summer Reading!

    Funded May 7, 2021

Every month, I send kids home with new books of their choice for them to keep. Over the summer, when I wouldn't see them for months, I wanted to stock their bookshelves with books to pass the days until they could be in school again. This project made that possible. The kids requested these books to read over the summer, and they were so excited when they got to take them home. Parents thanked me repeatedly. They said their students were reading more this summer than they have before. Thank you so much for giving to my students!”

  • Kids Need Books!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you so much for giving these books to my students. Every month, I allow my students to go home with a new book of their choice. With 19 students, I have to make sure I keep buying new books that the kids will like. For this project, I let them request their favorite books that they would like to keep. When new book day came around, the kids were so happy to go home with books they had requested themselves! I have seen these books read during our silent reading time, and parents have commented on them reading more at home as well. This is all thanks to my generous donors. Thank you so much!”

  • Minerals Rock!

    Funded Aug 3, 2020

Thank you so much for giving to my students! My students were so excited to see the different rocks and minerals during our geology unit. We learned about rocks that can be found in our area, and then students were able to handle and investigate all of the different rocks in these kits. We then learned about how to identify minerals, and we ran tests to identify the unlabeled minerals in the kits from this project. Some of my students said it was their favorite science unit so far. Thank you, my students really enjoyed these rocks and minerals.”

Our days are full of engaging group work and games. In order to facilitate these activities, I push four desks together to form their groups. If one student moves his desk, the team breaks apart and learning suffers. The room also gets crowded when the desks move apart from their groups, and it's harder for the students and me to walk around. With new tables, the teams will stay together and have more room to move around during our games and activities. When I distribute group supplies, I could put them in the middle of a table rather than on one of the student's desks. It would also be so much easier to rearrange the room. With the increased space, we would have more freedom for my active students to get out of their seats and do more kinesthetic learning if they could sit at tables instead of desks.
