Message from the Superintendent

Our district's incredible teachers know their students' unique needs better than anyone. Through DonorsChoose, they can use that knowledge to help fund projects that go above and beyond their basic budgeted needs in the classroom. We're grateful for this partnership and for the caring donors helping our communities become stronger, so that our more than 12,000 students can thrive.

About Cabell County Schools

Cabell County Schools believes in the immense potential of every child. All students are engaged in a rigorous and relevant curriculum with annual targets for proficiency. At the elementary level, schools are focusing on improvements in Reading, Math, and Writing performance. The district’s middle schools operate under the true middle school philosophy, with all students assigned to teams of teachers who work together to develop curriculum and support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. Cabell’s high schools and Career Technology Center create active environments with wall-to-wall College and Career Academies and West Virginia Simulated Workplace program offerings. In addition to core, Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses, these programs of study enhance instruction by offering students the opportunity to explore a broad area of career interest. At all academic levels, Cabell County Schools offers rich arts and extracurricular experiences. In addition to award-winning athletic programs, students are provided with music, art and physical education instruction from elementary to high school.
