Help me reach my goal of 100 donors!
Thank you again for your generous donation to our music classroom. It has been an especially difficult year for us, financially, and your contribution has meant a great deal to our program. Your gift came at the perfect time, as we were on the verge of running out of supplies when your package arrived!
With your help we were able to purchase enough clarinet reeds to keep our 35 clarinetists playing through to our Spring concert next week. While a seemingly simple item, providing reeds for our wind players proves to be a challenge. Since our students use about one reed a week, we need quite a quantity to keep everyone playing.
We so appreciate the generosity and are so thankful that you chose to support our project.”
Our scholars are so excited and appreciative of this magnificent privilege. They are being instructed by a master drummer, and learning classical djembe rhythms. The course of study includes the fundamentals of playing djembe, as well as the history of the instrument. Scholars are also taught the cultural significance of the rhythms which they are learning.
This opportunity has enhanced the quality of our Arts Education program. We have violin instruction, drama, African dance, modern dance, ballet, and visual arts. The African drumming is a wonderful addition to an already quite comprehensive arts education program. Thank you so much!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gathers

Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for supplying my music students with microphones. My students love to sing and perform on stage and their young voices just do not have the power to be heard in a large cavernous auditorium. We perform monthly assembly programs, a Holiday Show and an end of year concert. The children are so excited to know they are being heard throughout the entire auditorium, instead of just the first 2 rows.
Our school services lower income children that reside in a housing project located across the street. The arts provide an extremely important avenue for self-expression as well as a needed self-esteem boost to our many academically struggling students.
Donors like you have provided much cheer in a small NYC elementary school.”
I want to express my gratitude to you for your generous donations to my kids. The drums are absolutely beautiful and they sound really great! The kids are very excited when they get a turn to play the new djembe and the gathering drum.
We are learning about world music and many different types of rhythms. We play along with artists such as Salif Keita from Mali. The children are being exposed to rhythms from Africa, from Brazil and other countries.
If it were not for people like yourselves, many children would be missing new opportunities for growth and joy in music. Many, many thanks.”
I and my students are very thankful for your generosity. My students were thrilled to learn we had received pickups for their string instruments. Some of my students went to a concert by Black Violin last year and were inspired by the groups' use of pickups and electric instruments. My students started to research other artists who use electric instruments and would share videos with me.
The pickups are an inspiration to my advanced students who want to challenge themselves and the idea of what string instruments can be. My violists are especially excited as the violins and cellos typically get more of the glory in YouTube videos. They can't wait to challenge expectations.
Now more than ever, ordering a system to electrify my students' instruments is not in the financial cards. I am thankful to have money for replacement strings. Your gift has given so much to myself, and my students. The students know that there are good people in the world who care about what they are doing. With your donation, we can continue making music proudly.
They, along with myself are so thankful for your contribution to keep the arts alive in schools.”
Thanks to your generosity the students at my school have headphones they can count on. We had been using hand-me-downs that included headphones with one side not working, volume would not be enough, it wasn't good. We now have excellent headsets that the children love and use every time they come to music. It's difficult enough learning how to read music and play the keyboard- at 6 years old- without having to worry about whether or not the equipment is going to work properly.
As you can see in the photos loaded on my page, the musicians are immersed in their practice and loving every moment. So thanks again for your donation.”
My students and I are incredibly grateful for your very kind donation towards our classroom. Because of your generosity, hundreds of learners have experienced what it is like to accompany their classmates' singing, and they simply cannot get enough! All of the children, ranging from Kindergarteners to Fifth Graders, are thrilled each time I take out the xylophones during music class. They anxiously await their turn to play one of these beautiful instruments, and often request to play the xylophones when we are involved in other activities. We truly cannot thank you enough!”

Thank you so much for your incredible donation. Just to give you an idea of how incredible this has been for our school, I want to share with you a few anecdotes from the past few months. I have had two students who were dying to learn an instrument go from below average music students, to academically successful students across the board.
One young lady has changed her attitude completely because she was able to pick up drum sticks and found her 'groove' so to speak. Another young lady, who had her own mouthpiece, was struggling so much that she was very near giving up. She got her hands on the new mouthpiece, and the different was remarkable. The Oboe player has a new beautiful sound, and my freshmen are really starting to come into their own. These stories are just the beginning of what is to come.
All of these accomplishments are all thanks to the wonderful support from donations like yours. We really appreciate the extraordinary efforts to preserve the arts in schools and I personally want to thank you again for your generosity.”
On behalf of the students of our schools music program, I want to send a big THANK YOU your way. This has been a difficult year for many families in our school and area, especially after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Many of our students lost everything and replacing mouthpieces, cork grease, reeds and oils were not high on the list for their parents. Your generosity couldn't have come at a more appropriate time. Our students were so grateful that there are people out there, like yourself, who are willing to donate items for the betterment of children and for music education. Once again, the students and I say, "Thank you for your generosity!"”
So many thanks to you for your generosity and your support of music in public schools. The kids were thrilled about the drums, and it has been a perfect addition to our program. At the moment, we are only using them in general music classes and students take turns being the "beat master" as the keep the class together while performing. However, in the Spring, we will be adding the snare drums to our existing guitar program so we can rock out even harder!
Thank you again for your support. Donors like you make so many extra things possible for our students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Valentin
